Warning: Spoilers
Alex (Tomas Spencer) is a hitman with terminal cancer, which really doesn't play into the film. He works for Nicholas Maximov (Peter Gilbert Cotton) the richest man you'll ever know (unless you know Bill Gates). Alex is tasked to travel from his London to base to Berlin to pick up an item. Alex's cousin Viktor (Denis Lyons) is in Berlin, but Nicholas doesn't trust him. We later discover the item is the Yuri Gagarin watch that he wore into space or a replica. The watch ends up passing hands and Alex's job becomes complicated.

This was a decent hitman crime story. You got to know the characters and events come together nicely in the end.

Guide: F-word. Brief rape. No nudity.

Nifty thriller

Warning: Spoilers
Hard-nosed Russian Mafia hitman Alex (a fine performance by Tomas Spencer) gets diagnosed with terminal cancer. After being assigned to retrieve a watch in Berlin, Germany that astronaut Yuri Gagarin wore on his first trip into space, Alex must deal not only with his sleazy no-count cousin Viktor (a spot-on smarmy portrayal by Denis Lyons), but also a bunch of dangerous people who also want the watch.

Director Werner Schuman relates the absorbing story at a quick pace, maintains a tough gritty tone throughout, takes time to develop the characters, generates a good deal of tension, and stages the exciting action with aplomb. Nora Huetz contributes a sturdy turn as saucy prostitute Tanja. Peter Gilbert Cotton likewise impresses as smooth head mobster Nicholas Maximov. A neat little movie.
