The Real Side of America

The Street Where We Live is a powerful film, filled with moving, gritty moments of real life that happens everyday. Mary works in a factory, supporting her two kids since her husband died. It's a good life, but a hard one. One that is about to get harder because just like thousands of other businesses, Mary's workplace is closing it's doors, unable to compete with the cheap labor over seas. Things go from bad to worse and then again. This is a hard watch, but a necessary one because what happens to Mary and her family could happen to any one of us at any time. There but for the grace of God go I.

Too much profanity used

I can't believe that what 'appeared' to be a family movie about a mother losing her job and struggling to keep her family together used the F word throughout the movie! I wanted to see the end of the movie but when the daughter got angry, lost her temper and used the F word while talking to her mother, I was done. Not everyone appreciate vulgar language, that's one reason why I don't watch R rated movies. The profanity used in this movie was truly over the top. I try to select family friendly movies on Amazon prime. This movie was rated PG and it had a good story line but was very disappointing.
