My Review Of "Eternal Damn Nation"
ASouthernHorrorFan5 July 2014
The story for "Eternal Damn Nation" is grandiose and over-thought but complete. It has the feel of some of the later "Prophecy" films but without the cast or budget. The vision and direction in "Eternal Damn Nation" is done well enough, just not to the level it needed to sell the story arc the writer was going for. The weak acting, poor timing between dialog & action, used for character development, created an awkwardness for me as a viewer. Everything came off a bit more like episodic melodrama with no real soul.

The special effects are basic low-grade CGI effects used mostly in vid games or television series so don't expect much when watching "Eternal Damn Nation". The film is a low budget film so I knew the effects were not going to be a big selling point, as most fans of indie cinema will also understand. I think with the weak, and stereotyped performances the CGI was becoming a bit more annoying to watch. "Eternal Damn Nation" is not a film that would watch again but the concept and vision is enough to make we look forward to the creative people behind this one's future projects.

Sometimes you just don't need to say a lot....
planktonrules26 February 2015
Generally, I like IMDb's policy that reviews must meet a certain minimum length to be posted. Originally folks could post just a few words about a film and that was it--a lousy way to do a review. However, there are STILL a few cases where I DO wish I could just say 'it's bad' or 'I loved it' (if it's a blockbuster with 183482342 reviews already). In the case of "Eternal Damn Nation", I thoroughly disliked the film but don't want to come off as too mean or go on and on about what I didn't like. This being said, it's not very good and hope that perhaps the filmmaker and his crew and actors could all just use this as a chance to make their mistakes, learn their craft and get better. I wish them luck...but did not like the film in the least.

Small town indie horror bore
Leofwine_draca2 July 2017
Warning: Spoilers
ETERNAL DAMN NATION is a typical slice of indie horror nonsense about two characters. It's about a dysfunctional couple who end up teaming up: the guy is a mysterious loner, devoid of interest, while the woman is supposedly plagued by invisible demons. What follows is an unconvincing depiction of small town life invaded by supernatural forces. There's a tame sex scene, some wooden acting, and a few artistic moments, but generally this is a seen-it-all-before bore.

Eternal Damn Nation: Better than you'd expect
Platypuschow25 June 2018
Eternal Damn Nation was a horror I found on the Youtube channel Kings Of Horror, a page that showcases independent horror but alas mostly the worst of the worst.

It begins well with a fantastic scene and soundtrack so that certainly got it off to a promising start.

Alas the lack of budget is very apparent, the requirement in a movie like this for sfx is very frequent and they range from average to dreadful.

Thankfully the cinematography is better than you'd expect due to filters, good camera work and a few sneaky shortcuts.

It tells the story of a girl who comes under attack by the forces of darkness and the mysterious stranger who comes to her aid. Sure this is hardly original but it actually manages a decent payoff.

Poor action, crappy sfx and some embarassing acting hold it back from being anything even remotely special but it manages to remain watchable regardless.

Eternal Damn Nation is one of those good bad movies, that's an absolute mess but if you sift through it's flaws there is entertainment to be had.

The Good:

Great opening

Filters disguise limited budget fairly well

Great soundtrack

Decent twist

The Bad:

Some of the cinematography is weak

Action is a bit naff

Some laughable over acting

Things I Learnt From This Movie:

Wade through enough crap and you'll always find corn

Good One Man Effort
sgcim3 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
The director also wrote, produced and starred in this film, so you've got to give him credit for pulling off a good supernatural flick on a low budget. The acting, direction, camera work, dialogue and score were all good, so it was a cut above the trash you usually see in these types of movies. There were some good rock tunes in it, but it also had some good orchestral/choral music for the historical parts with Lucifer, heaven, the angels, etc... The story line was similar to the Prophecy movies, but I liked the twist at the end, which added some more complexity to the typical good vs. evil plot. I also liked the fact that it struck a good balance between the darker and lighter tone of the film, which kept it from getting too monotonous.
