A presidential story a whole generation needs to hear

I went to see this tonight with my two twenty-something kids. They were largely uninterested and lacked understanding of the character and presidential story surrounding Reagan. They're fairly picky movie goers, so I was impressed that they came out of the moving really loving it. They said that it was so great to get a story around what a president does as opposed to just learning the civics of government as they did in school. They were well aware of the slants that might be spun in delivering this movie, but nevertheless, took that into account and thoroughly enjoyed getting to know the man, Ronald Reagan.

This helped them appreciate the difference a leader willing to stand firm with integrity on clear cut policies versus a popularity.

I've always liked Robert Kline

And he made a decent Pro-Reagan documentary on Reagan's time in office. My problem with it is that it just covers the basics of the main events of the Reagan era, while only giving the side that favors Reagan.

Perhaps a bigger problem is that this has been done over and over again. Does another gushing documentary on Reagan really accomplish anything? I don't think so. It offered nothing new, perhaps because new information likely wouldn't fit the narrative?

Kline is about 20 years too late here, unfortunately.
