Cried like a little girl in this Ep

Overall, I like the show. I think that it ran about as long as it should have -- perhaps a bit longer in some cases. Episode spoilers below.

However, this episode was one of the most hard-hitting for me. (Until the final season) this episode marks the end of Emily's childhood with the death of her dog, Sammy. Considering the body count of this series, it seems silly that the dog dying was so sad, but he was both so happy to see her again and symbolized the last time she was happy with her father. His death was a gut punch.

Easily one of the most memorable episodes of the first 3 seasons. Well done.

A great first half of the S1 finale, full of drama and unexpected emotion.

It's credit to Emily Van Camp that she is able to play both the girl next door elements of Emily and also the ass kicking one too so effortlessly.

And yes, it was very sad when Sammy died.

Open grave. Emily digging. Somebody's offed. Who, I thought. Couldn't be that one, no, plot needs that one too. No likely candidates, except Mr. Gray-haired dude. Then, the moment I saw Sammy lying there, I knew the score.

And as for Sammy, clearly a different dog by death scene. Just saying. As for the only other reviewer here, yeah me too felt the lump.

Amber Valetta, as Lydia, is back with us in real time. I am just going to point out that she has made a suspiciously easy recovery after falling, what was it, three storeys down onto the roof of a cab, denting it the way she did. Not as much as a dislocated spine. Fragile little former supermodels falling such a distance THAT HARD onto taxicab roofs aren't gonna be that lucky, I'm sure.

As usual, my favorite was Christa B. Allen, but that's hardly news. Not that I like her plot development, but okay...

The old guy would keep incriminating evidence lurking behind that canvas? It could cut both ways, be leverage against others, the plot explains. Still, Conrad, had this been real life, would surely have gotten rid of it TWENTY YEARS ON still hanging on to something that could sink his empire? It's this kind of unlikely stuff that this show has in abundance!

Emily Alyn Lind (young Amanda) appears credited at the start, instead of her name being tagged on at the back, yet there is only seconds of new material done by her???

Only one episode to go in the first season. I must admit, the show is a whole lot more watchable than what I give it credit for. It has many mistakes, but for every mistake, for every shortcoming, it more than amply makes up.
