This program was first broadcast on PBS on November 2, 2022.
Factually: The Nazca Lines are in southern Peru, geoglyphs etched into desert sands and on some hill sides. In total it covers an area of nearly 400 square miles. There are about 300 different figures, including animals and plants. Also over 10,000 lines, some up to 5 miles long. Experts think most originated roughly 2000 years ago.
Unfortunately the Nazca of that time had no written language so archaeologists can only infer what their culture was from ancient artifacts. Like artwork on pottery and some preserved and richly illustrated woven fabrics. Or the excavated mounds that reveal once actively used structures. This program focuses on the efforts of many groups to decipher their culture.
This is a very worthwhile program for anyone interested in the subject.
