This potential Girlfriends series turned out to be a one-off, for reasons obvious after one sits through the 3-hour-plus misfire.
There's perhaps a minute of the all-girl rock band named Kill Slowly performing, with a live and lively (lesbians making out) audience, but otherwise we get slow-moving and uneventful improv conversations in a couple of mansions, and the usual mechanical Sapphic sex.
What passes for minimalist story content has Elexis Monroe as a journalist visiting the beautiful home of guitarist Lily Paige and of course having sex with her. A blonde identified as Kirsten owns the other mansion but has only a nebulous and uncredited NonSex role. Various beauties stay with her there and are more less the title characters (a la groupies). Of these, Madelyn Marie is a sexy layabout who is easily seduced by Darryl Hanah when Darryl decides to join the mansion set of unpaying tenants. With a thick Nashville twang accent, cute Ginger Lee is another housemate, who gets to roll in the hay with ultra-sexy visitor Joelean. I suppose that is meant as some sort of in-joke reference to Dolly Parton, who certainly would have spiced up this show with her presence.
Pointless final segment has Bobbi Starr delivering a manuscript of the story Elexis wrote to Paige, giving Lily an excuse for hot sex with the uninhibited superstar. I saw a Backstage 2 listed on the Trailers menu of a Girlfriends DVD, but no sequel was ever released.
