Smash The Dramaturg

Warning: Spoilers
What is wrong with this show? As a musical fan it is not good to see that this is what most of the world will know what Broadway is like. I love Jennifer Hudson a lot but it is an embarrassment that she has to be on this show and she does come off the best because she can actually act. Katherin McPhee was such a big mistake for this show as she is so flat completely in ever scene she does even against actors who even try. The Julia part of the episode once again was weak and her complaining about change continues to annoy me and bringing up the romance was a blast from the past I did not want to see or hear of again. At least Megan Hilty is away from most of the mess of Bombshell with her work in Dangerous Liasions. Bringing in the young boys with a musical idea does not work at all for me and I know it will not stop even though it needs to. None of the songs are interesting lately which is why I loved the show in the beginning. Laughble show that I really watch nowadays to make fun of how bad the show is. I can say the show was at least better then the first two episodes of the season or anything they did near the end of the first season.

EPISODE GRADE: C- (MVP: Megan Hilty)

Confuser Alert - Very Confused Director Seen
uydurukadres1 March 2013
Smash was one my favorite series over the last year. It did have the power to bind me in front of my TV when it was aired. It was even surprising me, since I do not like musicals that much. But the series was very good and far beyond other musical series like Glee.

It seems that the director as well as the creative team had a near death experience in the season break; otherwise I really cannot explain such disaster. Such a great show is so going in the wrong direction. It became the horrid new High School Musical; lacking any depth in the storyline, characters, dialogs or even costumes. Director is ruining the existing characters and make them do things which doesn't fit at all e.g. Elieen Rand is using too much of her hands, shouting at people. Or throwing the American Idol gang in the series without any real background or shallow personalities really get me fed up. The dialogs are really shallow, hence torturous.

At the end of the day, this is a very good example proving that a great show can also fail so greatly.

Rest In Peace Smash Season 1... We will miss you...

Warning: Spoilers
Anjelica Huston brings in someone to spruce up the book for their Broadway show BOMBSHELL. Naturally, the two writers oppose this person.

He wants the show to be more sexy in nature and there is an interesting segment of a musical interlude between Marilyn and John F. Kennedy. Of course, they see this as ridiculous, but it appears that they're stuck with this guy.

It looks like Ivy has made it big as she has landed a major role in a new Broadway production.

The Huston character works behind the scenes to get the deposition disposed of so that BOMBSHELL can go full throttle ahead.

As always, the singing and dancing are fine.
