Loved this doc. Gives a brief but accurate overview of relationship between indigenous people of a North America, particularly in the West, and the horse. Shows the evolution of this relationship, as well as the transition from warrior and hunting way of life to the reserve system and ranching and rodeo. Profiles three First Nations and well known cowboys/horse people within each. Interviews Pete Standing Alone and Cam Bruised Head from Kainai, and the met suing family of chuckwagon racers from Loon Lake FN, SK, and finally the First Nation of Xeni Gwet'in in Central BC. The filmmaker shows how each is transferring this away of life to the upcoming generations. Beautiful camera work. Catches some moving moments. Informative and hopeful.
