I want to like Black Ops

Warning: Spoilers
Akemnji Ndifornyen plays Tevin, the ringleader of a criminal gang in East London, with Hammed Animashaun playing Kay and Gbemisola Ikumelo as Dominique 'Dom' Archibald. I think, putting aside the merits of Black Ops, it's a step forward for the BAME community that BAME performers are leading the way in creating TV series and starring in them as well.

Episode one ended with a complete "did that really happen" moment, and I was really expecting episode two to build on that. However, episode two was just pretty much pratfall after pratfall (with references to chocolate teapots) and went on and one init.

Let's hope episode three can mop things up.

Slow, no real drama and BBC3 quality humour

After the shock ending of the first episode I had hoped this would shift gear and we would start to get some real drama. Instead, they hit the brakes and we got an episode in which not very much happens in terms of plot development and instead we're treated to a few slapstick comedy routines which would be more at home on BBC3.

The ending reveals the real focus of D. I. Clinton's investigations and I'm still mildly interested as to how it's all going to get sorted out (although I suspect we got a pointer in the cafe scene). One to binge watch with judicious use of fast-forward perhaps. Very much missable TV though.
