The finale feels kinda rushed, but a really good conclusion

Made in abyss finale is a 44 minutes long episode with content that could fill 3 episodes up.

The events felt rushed in a noticeable way, the episode switched from one event to another in a way that is kinda confusing and it didn't help understand what was happening... Now let's switch to the content itself The finale has good action sequences, many humorous dialogues and emotional, tragic moments, the best thing about this is it's unpredictability, I as a viewer tried to predict what gonna happen next but the episode kept going in a different direction The more you think about what happened in this episode the more you will see that it's a really good conclusion to the events of the season.

A Disjointed, Yet Mesmerizing Finale
smallersoul2 October 2022
The first season of Made in Abyss concluded with a double-length stunner of an episode that soared to my top 5 favorite anime episodes of all time. "Gold" certainly doesn't reach those dizzying heights owing to its rather poor pacing and scene structure, but the plot therein is a rather beautiful piece of work that ties up the season's plot threads with a lovely little bloodstained bow.

Tonally this episode is all over the place, and to be honest I can't entirely say that's a bad thing. The past several chapters of this saga (Episode 11 especially) have been unrelentingly bleak, so a shift in atmosphere is rather refreshing in that regard. Even still, expect to feel a little bit of emotional whiplash as the finale wavers between playful fun, and cruel reality. Additionally, Episode 12 feels a bit stop and start at times due to its rather jarring blend of quiet contemplation and thrilling action, accentuated further by its propensity to fade to black - a feature made especially noticeable by the extended runtime.

Beyond all the semantics, watching Episode 12 is like being struck by a rather poorly assembled semi-truck; it isn't held together very well, but there's no denying it hits hard. I'm still recovering from how many directions my heartstrings were pulled, one scene in particular eliciting a particular breed of existential dread that I'm finding rather troublesome to describe. So rather than attempt to, I'll simply leave a solid recommendation to watch it yourself. 8/10.

A complete mess

This has to be one of the most convoluted seasons of any series that tries way to hard at being smat and intellectual, yet only makes plot holes and empty "conclussions".

The finale answers np questions, people change their mind 10 times in 10 minutes and the finall "smart quote" sounds like a 1st year philosophy student trying to write a poem about how deep they are.

The stagnation of quality compared to the first season is crazy. This is all an entire filler season which gives nothing for the entire story.

The main characters are either dumb or mentally insane, thing just change for the hell of it. Dragon ball z had deeper messages than this season.
