Making the most of a small cast
lor_8 September 2015
The second volume of the HITCHHIKER series has only four players, so the four vignettes maximize the mix & match of the talent. It turns out to be a case of less is more.

Premise is that the superstar team of Lily LaBeau and Sinn Sage are doing a riff on "The Defiant Ones" -they're escapees from the state nut house, convicted of a crime they didn't commit. Statuesque MILF Kat Kastle picks them up on the road, partly because she's a lesbian and recognizes true talent when she sees it.

On a long drive to a new saloon she's fixing up for opening (shot on location at an atmospheric real-life vintage saloon), they park for the night and Kate seduces Lily for a well-lit (artistic license) sex scene on a blanket near the car. Sinn sees them and masturbates in the back seat as voyeuse.

When Kate's mature partner Jodi West arrives at the saloon she's none too pleased, having asked Kate to hire a couple of strong guys to help with the work. Without playing the feminist card, it's made clear that Lily & Sinn will do just fine. During a break, the girls horse around on a stage in the saloon, dancing around like strippers, twerking and the like. Jodi catches them, but instead of getting mad and firing them, she takes Sinn aside and tells her how attractive she is, cuing a torrid Sinn/Jodi bed scene.

That night, Jodi and Kate make love, with the noise carrying through the walls to disturb the young escapees' beauty rest. Sinn gets turned on, but has to convince Lily to act on their urges, since they are old (platonic) friends. Her ultimately going along with Sinn's proposal is certainly delightful to their fans.

Next morning Kate sees a newscast reporting on the escapees, but before she can call the cops, the duo is back on the road again, and at fadeout guest star Melissa Monet, in a quick cameo, gives them a ride with the audience left to ponder what will happen next.

By sticking to the basics this episode scores points in developing several believable and empathetic characters. It is especially gratifying not to have a completely extraneous sex scene with unknown or dubiously injected into the scenario players just for variety's sake.

Of the two olders in the cast, Kate Kastle is exclusively working in lesbian videos, while Jodi West has graduated from the Nica Noelle school of broadcasting to run her own incest-themed label in Florida named Forbidden Fruits, which unfortunately cranks out rather amateurish product, sometimes seeming to be almost vanity vehicles for Jodi.
