WHAT A FANTASTIC JOURNEY THIS SHOW TOOK ME ON !

I really didn't know what to expect when I saw the title, but I am so glad that I found this wonderful show. I didn't know that I could become so invested in the lives of a bunch of little pigs, but I certainly did and I'm so happy that they found their happy ever after. PBS was very smart to put out a show such as this one that is both educational and entertaining. I have no doubt that the show will save a lot of lives now that we are educated on the truth about the so-called micro pig that does not exist at all. My heart goes out to all of the pigs, find themselves in similar situation and don't have a group of activists, such as these did - excellent job PBS!

Heartwarming and Funny - A Unique Take on Reality TV!
lb-7374513 August 2023
This is an ingenuous twist on reality TV! It features the real-life trials and tribulations of a displaced mamma pig, her babies; and her estranged husband Dante! The well-meaning rescuers were in for a big surprise, after desperately searching and finding sanctuary for the two abandoned; and about to be euthanized; adult pigs. Then they suddenly discovered that Beatrice was pregnant! Who would have thought that a mamma pig and her babies could cause so much drama and still bring so much joy for their rescuers?

The show had me binge watching as well as laughing and crying through every episode. It's got something for everyone to enjoy. It's very entertaining; as well as heartwarming and full of twists and turns in the plot.

I like that parents can watch with their kids, teaching them respect and empathy for all animal species.

Wow! This show is SOOO fun!

This is the most adorable movie I have watched in a while. The pigs are SOOOO cute and the story is really compelling! Everything about it, from the names of the mama and papa pig, to the birth of the babies and... well, you just have to watch it. I really learned a lot about how smart and emotional pigs are. I had no idea. And, the fact that scam artists sell these pigs as micro pigs when there's no such thing. That's just awful. But, this show has a very happy ending. So, you gotta watch it. I am so glad this film is on the PBS app. That's where I caught it. I also love the people featured. Cindy Brady is a real character. So is Jane and, for that matter, the other lady in the cowboy hat. Oh, and the woman whose t-shirt says, I just want to drink wine and rescue dogs. Hilarious.

Good story but too much faked drama
emmapocl31 July 2023
First, I am an animal lover. I have owned dogs from childhood to being a senior citizen. And while I am not a cat lover, I did foster a neighbor's cat when he was incapacitated and unable to care for his orange tabby. Second, I am a vegetarian. I do not eat meat. Third, I do not believe in hunting for sport. I don't even like catch and release fishing. All that being said, I have a soft spot in my heart for all creatures, big and small.

I viewed Pig Little Lies on PBS Passport and my thoughts are that it was a bit heavy-handed and over the top with melodrama. It was good to see a positive resolution for the animals involved, but I started to question the presentation when these words flashed across the screen:

"Tensions are rising. Preparations are underway," and "It's time for Dante to face Beatrice." Really? That was a bit much.

A friend who watched with me said they were trying too hard to anthropomorphize these animals and engender human attributes to them. He said it sounded like dialogue from an episode of some reality show. I'm pretty sure those same lines could be used on The Bachelor, Survivor, Real Housewives, etc.

It is easy enough to deliver your point across to viewers about accepting the gift of coyote rollers without all the faked drama. This story could have been told without all the histrionics.
