I love this show! So, yes, I realize it is not the pinnacle of sci-fi, but it is fun, it is lighthearted, it has a great combination of historic fact with creative inventiveness and it makes you laugh. The plots are very Agatha Christie in 40minute bursts, they are not as predictive as the simplicity of the show would make you think. One thing that is very well done in this show is the character development, you can empathize with them and you want to see them do well, get together, or get a grip: you think of the characters as friends. It is not often that you feel so much like a show is your family, but the latest episode made me feel just like that. Saturday morning or prime time both work for me with this show, I just enjoy watching it.

2 Guns Down

Warning: Spoilers
So... Pete's willing to kill HG in the previous episode to keep Sykes from completing his plan, but NOT for some reason Sykes himself? OK, sure, he has control of HG via Cecil B DeMille's riding crop but he himself has no weapon, is sitting down, and TWO trained Secret Service agents have guns on him? What's the hold up here? Shoot him. And that's WH13 in a nutshell: a teenage show masquerading as a scifi classic. I like this show, don't get me wrong, but the weak attempts at building tension have the complete opposite effect. It's taken to a greater height as the show plays out too. Once they cross over it's so painfully obvious Jane or Artie could take him, and yet they don't. It's more of a Saturday morning show than a prime time one.
The stupidity continues

Warning: Spoilers
1 - Long multi-episode story arc I hate it even more the longer it goes.
2 - Darkness and sadism continue Why does a lighthearted, fun show like this need such sadism?
3 - Myka and Pete - Shoot the guy, don't stare at him
4 - If you aren't going to shoot him, then duck back up the stairs. Idiots!
Another cheap writing trick

Warning: Spoilers
Using time travel to reset a plot after the unthinkable happens is an incredibly cheap writing trick. This is close. A magical item that resets the last 24 hours.
So since we've already done the unthinkable, there's no problem sacrificing everyone who is left
And to top it off, we start another extremely long multi-episode story arc that dominates any other plots and for good measure we use another magic device to reset Steve's tragedy.
Why not just world peace?
Terrible writing.

Deus ex stupid

Warning: Spoilers
These are supposed to be super clever agants (and shown to be time and again, especially HG). So, why did they make the absolute dumbest decision that does nothing but start a new plot line? If the shield was powerful enough to protect Pete and Myka from the blast, why didn't HG just put the shield around, I don't know, just the bomb? The shield was right next to ground zero and sustained zero damage, so it surely would've contained it.
