A new policewoman, Anna Oster, joins the capital police station and is to cooperate with Assistant Commissioner Krzysztof Tarkowski - the star of the investigation department.
With subsequent investigations, Tarkovsky's conflict with Oster intensifies. Aleksandra tries to make the deputy commissioner realize that the new policewoman has something to hide.
A car bomb explodes in the city. A boy, who is being cared for by his father at the time, dies. The police's attention is drawn to his mother, who is overly sensitive about her little daughter.
Tarkowski, under the influence of Rogoz and working together with the commissioner, begins to trust her. However, Alexandra still believes that Oster is hiding something, which creates a conflict between her and Tarkovsky.
Aleksandra tries to find out where prosecutor Wojcik knows Oster. Meanwhile, Hartman calls the commissioner. Tarkovsky witnesses the conversation and follows Oster.
