Hell Yeah !!

Warning: Spoilers
I liked this episode so much, I liked the stories and the emotions that these actors had. I mean Charles when he found out about his father, Oliver with Dimas about his son, and Mabel with the detective, you can see a full of emotions and perfect acting right there. Also, another thing I love about these series is that they are full of surprises and cliffhangers that you want to see the next episode right away.

The glitter guy

Warning: Spoilers
So the suspicions go into Kreps and how he can be him? He is a cop and we are pretty interested how he could do this. And they find the original painting. Mabel cant trust alice anymore and she told her. And Mabel go to see Kreps and tell her the truth. And Charles find the real name of Leonara: its Rose Cooper. Teddy and Oliver fight. And we find that Teddy is the real father of Charles's son. Love also to see the secret painting inside the painting and show that the father of Charle care about their relationship. And Mabel make a link of the podcast made by Kreps and the murder. And Cinda and Kreps are link for the murders

Have nice revelations, surprises and seem nice to follow. We still wondering how Krops did it. Nice episode and we still have some questions but we will wait the final episode to know more. Love how end the episode.

At last, pieces of the puzzle come together!
Carpe_diem_17 August 2022
Before I start with my review I will like to how the series portrays the trio as amateur detectives and never cop like, an issue with several PI shows. They are smart people who stumble, bumble and solve mysteries like a normal person. Makes them relatable.

The episode reveals a lot about the mystery of Rose Cooper and Becky, the painting behind the $mn painting, the puppet master of Detective Kreps, and finally the significance of Cinda and Poppy. It peels off the layers one by one to connect the dots. The fight and subsequent make up of Oliver and Teddy over Will's paternity is heart breaking. Charles' discovery of Rose Cooper and her revelations of his father's good side was really moving. Mable confronts the glitter guy face to face in a boxing ring. As expected she made a stupid braggart such as Kreps spill most of beans regarding the plot right in a boxing ring. Of course the scene was realistic and creators didn't make a ScarJo out of Gomez (which I definitely think is a great idea for a future Marvel venture).

Special credits goes to Bunny who entrusted her prized possession - the painting - to the three people she hated the most as neighbours but surprisingly trusted the most. Hats off to you Bunny!

This is was one of the best episodes of this season and I am going with solid 10/10 for this flawless episode ( excuse me for using episode too many times). I seriously can't wait for the finale.

Fantastic episode!

While I didn't think "Flipping the Pieces" or "Hello, Darkness" were bad by any stretch of the imagination, "Sparring Partners" felt like a return to top form for the show. All of the acting is terrific as usual, and the episode thankfully revisits several plot points that were just starting to feel lost in the mix. My only complaint is that I wish they had shown what happened between Charles and Lucy after the events of the previous episode, although they hopefully might be saving that for next week. I'm realizing more and more how underrated Michael Rapaport is. I'm glad he's still finding work that allows him to shine. On the whole, this is one of my favorite episodes by far, and the ending has me psyched for the season finale!

The best episode in a while
showlover8316 August 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know about any other fans of the show, but as Season 2 progressed, I was getting tired of the rinse and repeat filler that I feel we've been getting. Going into this episode, I didn't think it'd be any different, but I was pleasantly surprised. First of all, I think Oliver's biological son storyline is brilliant, and I love how they showcased his and Teddy's crazed relationship. His confrontation in the elevator (and Howard hilariously being stuck in there with them), and their more peaceful, emotional talk over wine... I feel like this was an amazing way to close this story. Now for Mabel and Detective Kreps. I didn't exactly love how they presented Kreps as (probably) glitter guy last episode. I don't know if it was just me, or anyone else, who felt it was rushed and they could have executed it much smoother. In this episode, I loved seeing Kreps as the angry New Yorker he was shown as a bit last episode. He's such a terrible guy and I love how much I detest him. I also really love when he's walking away and tries to do a little jump pounce thing on Mabel and she doesn't flinch, it's really funny. Unlike previous lame reveals this season, the chicken shop Cinda Canning reveal was amazing, especially because Kreps actually hinted towards it clearly (possibly a bit TOO clearly, but it's still fantastic). Shockingly, Poppy turns out to be Betty, the missing girl! I didn't see this coming in the slightest, but that doesn't stop it from the fact that it makes SENSE. It's a reveal that catches you off guard, but it's not like it's out of nowhere. Brilliantly done, and I loved it. Now for my favorite part of the episode... the Charles part. I loved the unpeeling of the real Rose, and the well done retirement home website looks through. Her talk with him about his father and how she loved him even though he's not a good person was super emotional and it just felt really special. It was a moment between two characters that was just really needed in the show. Even now writing this and revisiting it, I can see how well they did this. Like, oh my god... can this show get any deeper? Anyway, I'm rating this episode a 10/10 because it's solid all around and I want this episode to get at least a 9/10, so that's why I'm going so high on the review. Thanks for reading!

Wonderful Show
Hitchcoc20 August 2022
Mabel continues to be a more real character. Her quirkiness in the past has made her unlikeable at times. She is beginning to realize that all that glitters is not the bad guy. That big lunk of a cop is her target and there are some good scenes between them. Oliver and Teddy meet in the elevator and get into it because of some secret information Oliver has discovered. Charles makes a discovery in the parrot cage and this leads to a phone call and information about the father he lost at a young age. We also are made aware of the truth about Poppy. But most of all, the plotting and the setup for the finale are choice. Good writing and a tangled web.

just wow and who is the killer
moviesfilmsreviewsinc1 September 2022
Episode 9 of Only Murders in the Building Season 2 begins with a voice-over by Detective Kreps. He is shown sparring in the boxing ring (the building is also his home) and mulling his annual wages in the NYPD. The $80k income isn't nearly enough to cover expenses in one of the costliest cities in the world. To make ends meet, he must do a little "extra" on the side. During the voiceover, we see him sneak into the evidence room in the station and tamper with it. He also divulges that he freelances as a detective in small towns and enterprises to give them city-like expertise in handling evidence and solving murders. Kreps also mentions a special lady he met in a bar. Saving the best till last is a good thing. Only Murders In The Building has certainly preserved its best episode probably over the course of the two seasons until episode 9 of its second season. If someone were to ask your opinion on the good/bad about the show, you'd probably ask them to watch this one. Except, they wouldn't understand a thing. Because all the missing pieces; all the loose ends are found and tied together to make one hell of a story in episode 9. All the little clues that were dropped for us through the season - examples - are fitted in an exhilarating fashion. The editing is breathtaking and actually so frenetic that you could see some of the scenes being cut halfway to fit everything in. Before you know it, the credits start rolling. Where did all that time go? Not only that, the show's true USP of finding lost souls in the midst of murder, mystery, and crime shines the brightest in episode 9. Against all odds, Oliver's heartbreak felt so real and intimidating. His dynamic with Teddy is something we have been missing this season. This episode brought the two ailing fathers sailing in the same boat together and gave some sort of closure to their struggles in connecting with their sons. OMITB was guilty of dragging things and coming up with fillers every now and then. Its appeal dropped quite a few notches in the second half of the season. It can certainly happen to any show but the storyline did seem to be a bit thin in season 2. After watching episode 9, that opinion has certainly changed.

Sparring Partners

Warning: Spoilers
Lots of revelations, fighting and heartbreak in the penultimate episode.

The best scenes were undoubtedly Oliver and Teddy Dimas scrapping in the elevator. Despite what Oliver told the rest including his son.

He reveals to Teddy about the true result of the paternity test.

Charles finds out just who Leonora Folger really is. This leads him to find another painting containing his father, one that leads him to reevaluate his relationship with him.

If it was an issue of father and sons with Oliver and Charles.

Mabel also strives to evaluate who she really is. Even if this includes sparring with Detective Kreps. He has an injury in his arm and he has glitter.

Mabel knows Kreps is dirty but he is not the mastermind behind it all.

Both Kreps and Poppy White have narrations in this episode but they may not be reliable. Especially as Poppy is not who she claims to be.

The series is wrapping some of the loose ends up but plans to have a few blind alleys for the finale.

Warning: Spoilers
The Mabel and Kreps scenes were good, but I wasn't really a fan of the "twist" in it. The Oliver and Teddy stuff felt rushed and anticlimactic, I can't see Teddy giving up that easily.

Warning: Spoilers
Every time they find something they find in the most.ridiculous way ever like seriously did they really find the painting while they were pushing a bird cage back and forth.

Or he just randomly opened his watch just to find an adress.

I still like the show very much but these things are so annoying.
