Thai first lesbian love!
M1racl3sHapp3n13 May 2018
If you have a little understanding of Thai culture then it would be easier to understand this movie. In fact, though Thailand is renown for being very open minded when it comes to gay and transgender men, it still has a very conservative view about women. There are still a lot of stereotypes but this movie will give you a glimpse of the Thai lesbian world which is finally coming out of the closet! It's a cute first love story which I totally recommend to anyone into romantic comedies!

funny, thoughtful rom-com
MysSL9 March 2013
Warning: Spoilers
If you're in the mood for a hilarious, thoughtful rom-com, try "Yes or No" (YON). It's billed as the first Thai movie about lesbians, but really it's more about that journey to find one's self and that most nerve-wracking of experiences, first love. Finding a copy with good English subtitles can be a bit of a challenge but it's worth the effort. A movie with a leading butch character is rare, but don't watch it just for that. Watch it because it'll make you laugh long and loud and maybe get you a little teary-eyed at some parts too. Though tame even by Asian standards, YON manages, with a few kisses, meaningfully clasped hands and hugs, to spin a very sweet love story.

The plot isn't all that unique for this kind of movie but it's in the way the story is told, in ways that are in turns humorous and touching, that raises YON above the usual formulaic rom-com. YON is funny but for all its humor, the movie isn't set in a happy fantasy world where a declaration of gayness is met with open arms. It manages to address several issues affecting gay youth, but mostly with a subtle, light touch.

This movie definitely wouldn't work without the chemistry of its two adorable leads, Aom Sucharat Manaying (as Pie) and then-newcomer Tina Supanard Jittaleela (as Kim). Aom is obviously the better and more experienced actor, and her ability provides a good balance for the times when Tina's acting is awkward. Despite her shortcomings though, it's Tina who provides Kim with that vulnerable charm that will have dozens of girls rushing to comfort her. YON has a few heavy, emotional scenes that tend to hit hard, and it's to both actors' credit that when one such pivotal scene comes around, they absolutely nail it.

a sweet teenager love story
oldtown887 September 2011
I don't want to give much spoiler for this movie.

So, Pie who is brought up with a dislike towards tomboys. And in coincidence her collage roommate happens to be Kim, a girl who dress like a boy but denies being a tomboy. Conflicts happens and then gradually this two person like each other leading to them falling in love.

This got to be one of the sweetest tom movie I ever seen. Without nudity and sex scene, just a few kisses and hugs. But the two lead actress is awesome and have amazing chemistry on screen. Tina portrayal as Kim the confused tomboy who does know whether she like female or not. And Aom portrayal of Pie who is scared of the eyes and opinion of people towards homo.

All in all, recommended for all who know "love is love".

Beautiful love story
Girl_Fawkes17 November 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Kim is tomboy, that denies being a tom because she isn't sure she likes girls or boy. Pie is girl, that doesn't like toms because her mother thinks its "disgusting" so shes been raised not to like them. The two girls end up sharing a room, and develop a strange friendship after some time, and eventually fall in love, but trouble is on the way. Because when Jane(Pie's gay friend, who's in love with Kim) kisses Kim when she is laying sick in bed with a blind fold, Pie walks in a sees it, she runs out of the room and home to her mother.

Worth a watch! One of my favorite movies of all time. And if u liked this, then watch the 2nd one as well :)

Love this movie. Kim and Pie makes a great couple. The story line is typical for a straight girl and tomboy. Waiting for yes or no 3 with the same casts

The sweetest movie. My new favorite

I loved this so much. I have just recently realized that I am bi, and i was literally screaming in just the first 20 minutes. Everything about this is so beautiful. It shows such a genuine sweet kind of love. And not only that, but it was so funny at some parts. If you like romances, especially lgbtq ones, i 100 percent reccomend.
