More than trash
spexance7 December 2010
Buddhism Revolutions is one of the most astonishing projects I've ever heard of. Two young people with a freaky idea start making a movie with no money, no material , no experience and nothing more than their will to do it. One should ask how this should be possible how they even dared to dream of a success. The more remarkable the result presents itself as an entertaining, humorous, most ironic and even heroic full-length feature movie including special effects, a great sound design and an orchestral score, that need not to spare a comparison with the big ones. The way the director uses the camera, his style, the cleverness of cuts and his continuity give us a taste of what will come next. The story itself is conclusive with some surprising turns and also doesn't miss out the action scenes. In the mixture with the absolutely goofy Super-Anti-Hero and the well placed side blows to nearly every Hollywood action movie cliché this motion picture does not earn his self-given certificate as "definition of trash" for it is a landmark in the making of low budget movies and a real masterpiece.
