More serious tone and better writing from the past episodes needs for future ones because this one seemed a bit strange

Warning: Spoilers
Ok personally I expected more from this episode. Sure it has some good moments and seemingly a great new storyline and all the characters are good especially the tribrid, heretic and their unique take on the Prometheus legend but that last one seems like a copy of the same story supernatural used in their 1 season 8 episode I recently watched and idk it just feels a bit out of context and lacking in originality and the lame monster thing that came doesn't exactly help. Sure the sire bond thing is cool but expected and somewhat predictable and it could have been done better in this episode in my opinion, the fights aren't really well done especially compared to the originals in terms of CGI and how good they look, the sarcophagus being so easily destroyed and Hope being so naive is a bit strange as well, Lizzie actually trying to kill Hope this time while it might seem realistic after what she did is actually a bit out of character for her in my opinion especially since just last episode she said that she couldn't be the one to stop her no matter how evil she becomes I mean it's literally the name of the episode so while not bad in my opinion this episode was a little anti climactic, lacking in a dark and serious tone and seems to be going back to the lame era it started which I Hope pun intended doesn't happen since the recent episodes have been great and we don't need any more childish or cringe aspects like we had in past seasons especially season 2 with fairies and Santa which weren't even the biggest cringes. Overall their on a good path and have potential but they need to write future episodes better in my opinion.

This show is getting more weird and strange every episode and in some way i kinda like it?

The only problem is that they have changed a lot in a bad way than whats TVD or TO used to be.

This episode feel like less exciting than previous episode but I do like Ben. Ben's backstory was interesting but its too short. Lizzie woke up from sleeping spell and fed on human blood to complete her transition give me CLASSIC halloween spooky or Scooby Doo vibe. I already missed Aurora! Im afraid if we are going back to childish tone instead of darker tone. Oh hey if I were a writer for Legacies.... I have great imagination for the future of the vampire diaries universe . Psst.. here the hint: time jumps to the Jetson era like flying cars, robot, and the town becomes more like Seattle space needle? Imagine Hope or Lizzie sucking the blood while driving a flying car. I means we are going to buy a flying cars in real life this decade or next decade. Sci-Fi just become Sci Reality in real life. Yeah...No? Okay then.

Too Childish

Honestly , Legacies wasn't supposed to be connected what so ever to TVD or TO It's a disgrace to both series I pity Hope's character to be ruined with a Power Ranger's monster-like ,childish none sense as Legacies.

This one didn't bore me much...

Writers tried to pull a Willow and Oz with Josie and Finch. But failed at it. Then tried to channel their tearful goodbyes, in the previous episode. But it was hers with Lizzie that felt more genuine. And now, just like in the fifth season of BTVS, we are introduced with a goddess our heroines can't kill. The Ben character is too out of nowhere to care. But I liked the pet monster thing, and his and Jed's upcoming bromance (?). In all honesty, it is Hope and Lizzie's sire bond, that caught my attention the most. And it makes for funny and joyful moments. I'm still not sold on Alexis Denisof being on this show, but who knows, maybe his character will improve. The other side subplot peeked my interest, this time. And I'm curious to know what will come of it next.

Well..

This episode was ok, but there are still too many story contradictions. Limbo scenes were my favorite part of this episode. Ted's dynamic with Landon and Alaric is fun to watch. Landon and Alaric are less annoying thanks to Ted. It was a good decision by the writers bringing the Necromancer (Ted) back this season. Still the writers could do more with limbo. So far it feels like these three characters were just put there to make the no humanity Hope storyline happen. Important story parts like Ted's amnesia or his sudden obsession with peace are still left unexplained. Furthermore it would have served Landon's character, if for example he had met his mother in limbo. Overall limbo doesn't get enough screentime to explore things much. Nonetheless all three characters had character development in limbo and I hope the writers don't ruin this by not bringing all three characters back to life. Seeing what Ted would do back in the world of the living now that he's friends with the good guys would be interesting to watch. Besides the Necromancer is just too good of a character to get rid off. Also I'm so tired of watching the same storyline with Hope and Landon. It's nice to see Landon bonding with other people than Hope. Even Alaric learned something in limbo thus let's hope the writers don't just throw it away.

Unfortunately no humanity Hope is a let-down so far. She isnt really evil and doesn't do anything powerful. Killing Lizzie has no consequences for her, because she was saved by turning into a heretic. There are too many contradictions. A few episodes ago Lizzie planned to kill Hope for killing her father, now two episodes later she's joking and hanging out with her as if nothing bad ever happened. This sudden change of mind is explained with a sirebond, what feels kinda cheap. Even so Lizzie is forced to do what Hope tells her, Lizzie could still protest, but most of the time we hear nothing except some jokes. A season ago Lizzie made clear, that Josie, her dad and MG come before Hope for her, now her feelings suddenly have changed? Suddenly Lizzie doesn't care anymore that Hope killed her father? Inconsistent writing and I feel like this should have been explored more to make it believable. Josie leaving town, when her sister was killed seems out of character too.

The gods plot is kinda ridiculous, not because bringing in gods is a bad idea in general, but how they are portrayed. At least Jed gets a storyline after having none for 3 seasons, but if it's just another dating storyline as it was with Kaleb and Cleo, then it's not very interesting.

As for the Squad they were as useless and boring in this episode as they're always. I don't really understand their purpose on the show. They aren't really good friends with Hope or Landon. Don't really seem to miss any of the two nor do they have much of a bond with Hope or Landon. The screentime should go to limbo instead of wasting it on the squad.
