The Many Lives and Deaths of Giovanni Lombardo Radice (2010)

**** (out of 4)

Excellent interview with actor Giovanni Lombardo Radice who discusses his horror output from Italy. The main films in question are HOUSE ON THE EDGE OF THE PARK, CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD, CANNIBAL APOCALYPSE, CANNIBAL FEROX and STAGEFRIGHT. Each film gets between seven and ten minutes as the actor talks about how he was hired, what the directors were like and what he thought of the actual film.

He spends a lot of time talking about CANNIBAL APOCALYPSE and how this character was his most favorite. He also talks about co-star John Saxon as well as his love for that film's director. CANNIBAL FEROX is a film that he truly hates and it appears he hated its director, Umberto Lenzi, just as much. He talks about why he ended up doing the film and his thoughts on the sadistic violence in the film as well as the animal violence. He also shares some stories about Lucio Fulci on the set of CITY OF THE LIVING DEAD as well as his now infamous death scenes. Fans of the actor or just the Italian horror genre are really going to love hearing all of these stories and there's no question that he's incredibly honest with his answers. He even talks down on one of his co-stars from the Fulci film and his hatred for CANNIBAL FEROX is put right out there.
