Baptism by Fire

I went into this episode "cold", meaning I had never seen any previous showings of L & O Organized Crime. I only saw it because I was watching SVU and it segued right into it from SVU so seamlessly, I wasn't even aware it was a new episode until the opening credits.

Nevertheless it was intense from beginning to end, never really letting up for a moment. I am really not familiar with Stabler's children - they were all so young when I last saw them on SVU. But Nicky Torchia is perfect in the role of Eli, who only wants his father to be there for him and come back from the edge.

Will Stabler be able to step back from his investigation enough to see that his family is hurting? Or will his vendetta against Wheatley consume him. With the cliffhanger the end of this episode, we will have to wait until January to find out.

In the meantime, I guess I will now be binge watching previous episodes of the show and hopefully will be caught up in time for the next new episode in January.

A massive segue from the ongoing storyline
lgall-658-10413021 April 2023
I've been watching this series from the beginning. Each series has an ongoing story so I had to double-check I was on the right season as this ep has nothing to do with season 2 storyline and everything to do with season 1. (All of a sudden, without notice, it's switched back.) Highly confusing! (and why not put it in season 1?) Though it could well be a crossover ep of an ep of svu I haven't got to yet. But once you get over that, it is actually watchable as a one-shot episode. Nice to see Tamara Taylor and Dylan McDermott back. They were the best of the first season. Hopefully this was an actual one off and they can get back to order.

Eli Stabler Gets The Spotlight

Warning: Spoilers
With Elliott's son goes missing over the loss of his mother and the trial of the man that ordered the killing Richard Wheatley on trial, as it is too much.

He goes to see a young lady and they are at her apartment. But when he wakes up he finds her dead. He is the prime suspect and nearly commits suicide until a cop talks him down there.

Now Elliott must not just deal with the Wheatley case but that over in his younger son that could head to prison.

I don't think it is plausible that Wheatley could've gotten off so quickly, but what are you going to do?

Still a solid episode, but the Eli stuff was a little weak.

Episode makes no sense

Warning: Spoilers
I watched this episode because it was part of a crossover from SVU. I stopped watching Organized Crime some weeks ago and this "story" only reinforces my judgement that this is just a bad show. Apparently Eli was set up by someone clairvoyant enough to know that he would 1. Bolt unexpectedly from the trial of his mother's murderer. 2. end up at a particular party spot in New Jersey even though the trial was in NYC and he lives in Long Island City 3. Go home with the designated girl. This person knew that all of this was going to happen and so they were able to hire someone to kill the girl after it all fell into place. Not to mention that Stable and his hacker were able to find and log into a hidden camera in the room within a matter of minutes. Really?
