Cute female comic Aubrey Plaza -below ('Scott Pilgrim vs. the World') and hugely entertaining actor John C. Reilly ('Step Brothers') are stepping into the world of the undead by signing on for Jeff Baena's ('I Heart Huckabees') new directorial effort 'Life After Beth'. The horror comedy is based (loosely?) on the UK short by director Mysterious Al the video of which you can check out below. The short itself which is perfectly hypnotic for its 7 mintue run will need a heck of a lot of padding and substance to help swing it into a proper feature length. Hopefully writer/director Baene, who just happens to be the partner of star Plaza, has the goods. Plaza, herself, has described the project as 'a really fucked-up movie'. Splendid!...

Quite interesting team on board for an upcoming zombie comedy titled Life After Beth. Aubrey Plaza and John C. Reilly are all set to join Jeff Baena‘s project, and don’t worry – Plaza has already described the whole thing as a really fucked-up movie. So we should all get ready for a fucked-up and funny movie with zombies, Plaza and C. Reilly? I’ll give them a try…
At this moment, not much is known about Baena’s movie. Well, actually, we do know that Life After Beth will be based on Mysterious Al‘s 2010 UK short horror of the same name which starred Emma Brunton and Oliver Eastwood.
However, don’t expect to hear something spectacular about the movie plot, ’cause the only thing we know about that is:
Domestic bliss, tenderness, heartbreak and the undead.Life After Beth is a short observation of a couple subsisting together in London.

Next year is going to be a feeding ground for hungry zombie fans. Outside of the continuing zombie series The Walking Dead on AMC, fans will be treated to the zombie comedy Warm Bodies – which just began early screenings for audiences – and the Brad Pitt adaptation of the Max Brooks novel World War Z. Aubrey Plaza is known for her comedic skills with the TV show Parks and Recreation and this year’s surprisingly funny indie comedy Safety Not Guaranteed. With her next feature the young actress may be required to do a little more than deliver humorous lines in her typical dry, straight-faced fashion. She talks about the film in a new interview with the Guardian. And it sounds like something horror fans may want to take notice of.
