What a beautiful, meditative hour with Van Morrison. There's nothing in particular in this show that will blow you away, but I love the feeling it evokes every time I watch it.
Van is able to recapture that mystical feeling he so often could conjure up in live performances years ago. He is able to take us way, way, back to Hyndford Street and Cyprus Avenue and the Ireland of his youth.
Van is also in a rare, jovial mood during this performance. He tries to be funny, actually speaks to the audience a little bit, and occassionally would flash a smile. Van seems to be having a good time and it shows in this lovely performance.
