Same good content but a hard to recall plot lines after such a long break
abhijitshukla-1739212 November 2022
I likes how the season 3 picked up and avid watchers remember the plot-lines about the Stone family to pick up exactly where it was left in S3.

However, minor and peripheral characters have faded from memory and difficult to remember where they were when S3 ended - e.g. Angelina, Anna, Eagan, Adrian.

Going back and watching all three seasons again would be too much time to invest to get the context.

I remember nAiden as an opportunist setting up ministry of 828ers and Vance was working behind the scene with 828ers to solve the mystery but cannot recall how Bird's nest was set up or what happened to Aiden before S4.

I wish there was a feature that gave synopsis of each character's arc through the first three seasons.

The "jumped the shark" episode
hosenoggin10 November 2022
So here it is folks. Your "jumped the shark" episode. When the show was on network television, it was plagued by decent storylines hindered by mediocre acting, and slow moving sub plot lines. So it was inevitable that we should expect a "jumped the shark" episode. Missing a few characters, or altering old ones is making a series difficult to watch now on Netflix. I haven't watched the whole season yet but if it is like this first episode, I can't see it being renewed for a fifth season. So I hope that the 10th and final episode of this season is a series finally, and buttons up everything so as to not leave us on a cliffhanger.

Great Way to Start the Season [8/10]

Warning: Spoilers
Reaction / Review for Manifest Season 4 Episode 1: Season 3 was good but I expect more from this season. Ben got a beard? Cool. Wait its been two years? And Eden is missing? Wow. Grace is dead. While that sucks im not sad about it. Wait, is Michaela working for the NYPD again? So people think Cal is missing and but Cal came back older and they want to keep it a secret, interesting. Ben has become a really sad man, it makes sense. Is Zeke having a heart attack? What's going on? They found the black box from the plane? That could lead to some answers. We see Angelina with Eden, Angelina is an absolute psycho. Great episode and great way to start the season overall. My rating is 8/10.

So bad it's so good!

The storyline remains compelling and the acting remains soap opera quality but in a good way. I love watching this show because it's got lots of twists and turns and interesting side plots all culminating toward....who knows?! I'm diving into S4 and I can't even remember what the Death Date is all about and I don't even care. I'm gonna keep on watching.

The flashbacks are a great way to fill in what's been happening to give important plot points without having to see the day to day aspects of the time gap from last season. It's sad to see Ben so down in the dumpers but I remain hopeful that early in the season he'll perk up and be back to his calling shenanigans.

I loved it!

Warning: Spoilers
We went back and rewarded season three because we needed a recap on what all went down. I'm sad Jack Messina (young Cal) left, but, Ty Doran is great! I wish they had clarified how and why Cal caught up with Olive in age at the end of season three. If I had to guess (what makes the most sense to me) it was because the tail fin was put back. I hope they fill us in on why and how that happened in later episodes, but for the first episode back after so long I really enjoyed it.

It broke my heart to see Ben so heartbroken. I can understand Olive initially blaming Cal for Grace's death unfortunately, but I'm so glad she didn't stay angry with him. I was worried for a bit that Ben blamed him too in a way (because of what happened at eureka) and he still may to some extent. I don't know if we're going to get a fifth season, (from my understanding Netflix took the show to wrap it up with season four) but I'd be okay with it going longer as long as they have a good story to tell.
