A waste of time
klemdaniels30 October 2022
I'm a Christian, I attend church when I can, so why do these so called "family" "faith based" movies flop so hugely? Because they're poorly written and poorly delivered. Nothing is Impossible should have been titled "Nothing, this is a movie about Nothing". The religious messages are forced, the belief that David White is the guy for this role is really a joke. It's very obvious he's too short, too slow and too old.

Then there's Nadia Bjorlin, who plays the owner of the team and former fiancé to Scott (David White). He left her at the alter and didn't tell her why?...and this was years ago. We're supposed to believe she has waited all this time for him? Uhh, I don't think so.

Convenience has scripted this movie, everything simplified for the end result...and that's either obvious and lame.

I wish Pureflix all the success in the world. There's a place for what they're trying to make here but it's not now. Hopefully, with time and money they will put out the kind of movies Christians, people of faith, and anyone wanting to watch a Hallmark type movie will want to see.

Nice movie, not Earth-shaking, but NOT a "1" or a "2".

OK folks, look at the votes here, lots of "10" and lots of "1" votes. Totally unreasonable. But look closer, the most popular rating for this movie is "6" and that should tell any prospective viewer that it is a pretty good movie, not great but not worthless.

I absolutely detest reviewers who find one or two things they don't like about a movie and as a result vote it "1". That makes absolutely no sense.

I also detest reviewers who take it upon themselves to say "Don't see this movie, it is a waste of time." Who are they to try to tell ME how to spend my time? That type of comment is ridiculous and useless.

Yes this is a Christian faith-based movie, and if you compare it to the better movies it may not come out very high. But it has a good message of never giving up. It does not say God will give you what you want if you just believe. But it does say we each have the ability to achieve our goals because nothing is impossible.

In summary, if the topic interests you, then see this movie. My wife and I watched it at home on DVD from our public library. I'd say it compares favorably to many of the Hallmark movies in terms of nice, clean entertainment.

Not based in reality

Warning: Spoilers
I am a Christian, a serious evangelist, and high ranking deacon in a large church, and... a lifelong basketball player. So I should love this movie right?

I want Christian movies to succeed and reach the unsaved and provide good entertainment, so do... and some don't. The issues with this movie really insult the intelligence.

From a basketball standpoint. The actor is over 50 and maybe looks a little younger but he is not tall. We don't see him playing in active basketball leagues and constantly playing outside of hitting shots on his break from being a janitor. Chris Webber would be around the same age as the protagonist in this movie and he is 6 10 and he could not last 2 minutes in today's NBA, so why should a 5 11 set shot specialist. We do not see him guarding anyone as your lateral movement is gone besides giving away inches and wingspan. The kid on the high school team jumps to the NBA after one year in college, yet there are no recruiters in the stands for his games. To be one and done in college in the NBA you have to be a highly touted prospect. Knoxville would never get an NBA team as the Memphis Grizzlies would have a huge problem with that. I can go on and on about the flaws with basketball.

As for the Christian theme. The main character seems to never be Christian in any form and goes to one Christian athletes meeting and is quoting the Bible and giving pep talks, that just reeks of fakeness to a non believer. The team owner has more cleavage than a mafia movie. The pastor of the church snubs the "wanna be" pastor for the protagonist. We see the team owner pray once but never minister to the main character.

There are the plot holes. So main character leaves team owner at the altar and she welcomes him back with open arm. Protagonist has lived 20 years as a janitor and never dated or had any friends.

If you run a suicide in 35 seconds you probably don't make a high school team. WE had to run them in 28 seconds and we were not an NBA team.

I could come up with 100 other things. As Christians we need to create movies that draw non believers in with a believable story so that the biblical message is subliminal. The story is engaging and not insulting, so that a non-Christian can watch the movie and enjoy it while getting ministered to. This flies in the face of that, it is a vanity project and I have to give a 2 rating.

Christian? Where's the modesty?!?
ginasharp11 November 2022
I was looking forward to watching this movie 🎥 but stopped because it has more cleavage than a regular Non-Christian Netflix movie. Netflix is showing normal everyday women that seems more real - women you see on a daily basis in life. These bad Christian movies paint the girls up to "Tammy day bakers" with the boobs spilling out! They wanna teach biblical truths but not modesty. Even Hallmark is "getting it" these days. Quit exposing women as "sexual" objects and let them be real women!!!!! Not a fan. Yuck 🤢 the channel It's on is called Pure Flix - hello, it all get forced like we have to show some "made up woman" to get people to watch God's word. Uh, no, no you don't. Ugh.

Nothing is Impossible
amybooksy8 October 2022
I enjoyed watching Nothing is Impossible. I loved the themes of accepting and believing in yourself, power of forgiveness and leaning on God when troubles arises. I instantly liked Scott in the beginning. I found him to be relatable. He continually was being judged as he struggled with his past. He had to learn about himself, how to use his talents to be good and listen to what God was telling him instead of those around him always doubting him. I thought it was a touching, inspirational and heartwarming story that would be a perfect addition to a family movie night

I am giving Nothing is Impossible a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for families of all ages.

I received an early screen link of Nothing is Impossible from Pure Flix, but was not required to write a positive review. This review is one hundred percent my own honest opinion.

Well earned

It's hard to give something 10 stars because nothing is ever really perfect. But some come so close anything less is dishonest.

I was hesitant when I first heard of this. It felt like it was going to be another long-shot sports story. Don't get me wrong. Those stories aren't bad but they've been done and I had no reason to expect anything fresh on this take. Happy to be wrong.

The story didn't take the 100% predictable turn. At least not for me. It was powerful in its realistic simplicity.

I've watched it several times now and the desire to "skip to the good parts" is there but then you realize they're all good parts.

The characters are real. They have talents but are flawed. In today's world it's the norm to make the protagonists so perfect that there is no triumph, no risk, and no real investment. Fortunately, Nothing Is Impossible stuck with the tire and true form of story telling. They got us invested in who these people are, where they came from, their strengths and weaknesses, their failings and their courage.

This is what good storytelling is. People are inspired to reevaluate their own lives even in relation to this fictional story because even in the fiction there is relatable truth.

The cast and crew did an amazing job. Definitely going in my top favorite movies.

Fantastic Movie
ykorotky2 June 2023
I watched this with my husband and we are both Christians. For me it was one of my all time favorites. Since our lives are based on our belief in Jesus Christ, our only God, this movie proved that having Faith brings great results. When you never give up, and your Faith remains strong even in troubled times, it always produces a good feeling and happiness prevails.

This movie was a great love story too. Because the owner of the team Ms. Bjorlin (Ry) never stopped loving Scott after many years earlier when she married another person but it ended in divorce, was epic when both she and Scott realized they never stopped loving each other. It showed hard work and compassion on both sides. Scott was a great inspiration to the other basketball players on his team when he initially signed up. He showed them even though he struggled tremendously, his determination and willpower brought him reward. Then the ending showed all his efforts paid off when he became the head coach of the very team he had played on.

The entire movie with the pastors, pastors prayers, faith building ongoing with the players, and Scott made this a great movie for anyone including children. It was so delightful to watch a great movie with no swearing and no violence. It delivered a wonderful feeling toward our mighty God Jesus Christ. This was a Fantastic movie!!!!

Lovely

This is one of few movies in pureflix that worth our time to watch. The story is not so bad and action is good compare to the average pureflix movies acting that is horrible!

The flow of the movie is just right with some biblical messages which always encouraging when we face the cross of our life. I like this movie a lot as they don't really started slow and boring. They started pretty steady pace to the climax and twisted end to show that God's plan is always the best even though not always in our plan or expectation.

Good job for all the people involved in this movie. Hope this movie can bring blessings to you too.
