Pannu debuted as a producer with horror-thriller “Blurr” (2022) that she co-produced via her Outsiders Films. The company’s next, “Dhak Dhak,” which follows four women who set out for a road trip to the highest motorable pass in the world on a motorbike journey of self-discovery, went on theatrical release on Oct. 13. ZEE5 Global, a streaming platform which focuses on South Asian content, has grown 35% year-on-year in viewership among its target audience in the U.S., according to data released by the service.
The South Asian diaspora in the U.S. took the most to drama, with the genre accounting for 60% of the viewership on the platform during the first half of 2023. Theatrically released films “Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan,” starring Salman Khan, “Uunchai,” headlined by Amitabh Bachchan and “Salaam Venky,” featuring Aamir Khan and ZEE5 originals “Sirf Ek Bandaa Kaafi Hai,” starring Manoj Bajpayee, “Tarla,” with Huma Qureshi, “Ayali,” “Taj: Divided by Blood” and “Vyavastha” were heavy hitters for the service.
Comedy grew 92% year-on-year and accounted for 22% of total viewership, with successes including “Kanjoos Makhichoos,” “United Kachche,” “Mrs. Undercover,” “Chhatriwali,” and “Raksha Bandhan.”

A complaint against Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu, who is known for films like ‘Pink’, ‘Blurr’, ‘Haseen Dillruba’ and several others, has been filed for hurting religious sentiments after she donned a necklace with Goddess Lakshmi’s sculpture paired with a revealing set of clothing as per the complainant.
The ‘Manmarziyaan’ actress had uploaded a picture and a video on March 14 from the ramp walk at Lakme Fashion Week held on March 12 in Mumbai. The religious outfit Hind Rakshak Sangathan has filed a charge against Pannu for violating religious emotions and spreading obscenity.
The allegation was made by Eklavya Singh Gaur, the convener of the Hind Rakshak Sangathan Indore, who is also the son of Bjp Mla Malini Gaur. Police said that they received a complaint from Eklavya Gaur against actress Taapsee Pannu for hurting religious sentiments and the image of the religion.
Taapsee is yet to react or issue a statement on the legal action.

‘The Fame Game’ actress Nitya Mathur got candid about her role and how she prepared for her character in the web series ‘Taaza Khabar’ that also stars Bhuvan Bam.
Nitya said: “My character Shazia is an extremely smart girl. She knows what needs to get done and how to get it done. She’s a really cool girl. Quick on her feet, unapologetically ambitious, and so driven. It was so much fun to play her.”
She shared further on her preparation: “There are parts of Shazia that are actually a lot like me. So I drew from my own experiences for those. For example, Shazia’s relationship with her father is a lot like what I have in real life. A father and daughter who have different approaches to life, but deeply love and care about each other; will do anything for each other, and put in honest effort into understanding each other.
