Enjoyed it as always, but the cliffhanger?
MIssM194 August 2021
In the last minutes of the the last movie we discovered that Amy's uncle disappeared, so this is where this movie picked up. Amy, Travis and Graham fly across the country to NYC to find out what happened and even help with the investigation.

Have I mentioned I love these movies? I love the main characters, they chemistry between Kristoffer and Jill and this was no exception, their characters had few but very sweet moments.

I'm not gonna lie, this case was quite tough to follow, so many characters, so many possibilities, and in the end we discover that there were like three different storylines all wrapped up in one. Also, has any of the writers heard of the word "jurisdiction?" Okay, moving on.

I did miss Amy teaching class, I find it so interesting when they link her class to the case.

Fact: Around the minute 55 you can see a few people wearing masks.

Now that ending? I hate it and love it at the same time. Why? Firstly, because of the cliffhanger and it leaves us wondering what the heck happened in those 11 months (I'm PRETTY SURE it will be a huge misunderstanding, they surely mislead us on purpose), however I love it because it's confirmed we will have another movie, I wish it's sometime this year (yeah I know Jill was pregnant in this one) but one can hope right?

Don't Drop the Ball!!!
annwheeler-0764629 March 2022
All seven episodes of Mystery 101 show the relationship between Travis Burke and Amy Winslow as it evolves over time.

Now that all seven have been shown in a marathon session, winding up with Deadly History, I hope that's indicative of a positive resolution in the next installment, despite the squirrely "preview " tacked onto Deadly History.

I realize that there's been change of command at Hallmark recently, but I hope there won't be a dropping of the ball here. Mystery 101 is too solid a series to mess up!!!

Really good installment
bangel332215 September 2021
Loved this one so much, it's definitely one of the better episodes of the Mystery 101 series. Lots going on, lots of suspects and little twists. I really enjoyed the story and the reveal was great as I didn't suspect it. However I'm gutted at the end of this episode when they give a glimpse into the future a year later. I won't spoil it but I was heartbroken!!!! Can't wait for the next one!

Family Knows You Best...until they don't
amspirit-450192 August 2021
Several story lines in one mystery, intertwined then unraveled as resolved. I love the chemistry between Jill Wagner and Kristopher Polaha. Did question a swim in heavy clothing but it worked for the script. Teaser set my mind to whirling. Eleven months later?

The Best & least predictable of all Hallmark Movies
ChannelSurfingHero2 September 2021
I enjoy this Series of Movies. The two leads are hot and have crazy chemistry. This lasted movie was good, it wasn't my favorite, but it wasn't predictable and it entertained. The best and worst part of the movie all occur in the last 5 minutes. Finally they reveal their feelings then 2 seconds later they flash forward 11 months and it's like...WTF? Really? Less of a cliffhanger wanting me to watch the next movie and more of an aggressive eye roll situation.

I absolutely loved these movies. I loved this one as well. But the ending confused me and absolutely broke my heart. I'm hoping that is was just a dream or not true.

Good episode except for the lousy ending
maryeshaw-084621 February 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This would have gotten 8 stars but what were the writers thinking with that ending??!! After a few years together Amy & Travis finally realize and admit that they love each other and then BAM!! Along comes the lousy (wish I could use more colorful language in this format but I guess I'll have to stick with lousy) ending. Amy, who presumably hasn't been romantically been seeing anyone other than Travis in a few years, suddenly within 11 months of expressing their love for each other is done with Travis and engaged to another guy??!! And now it will be at least two years IF there is another episode film to leave their fans on that sour note. Shame on the writers!!

Great story....lots of possibilities
marisa10102 August 2021
This was a great story. I am not sure if I 100% understood how everyone was or wasn't involved...I might watch end one more time because I felt some details weren't fully resolved at the end.

The 11 months later part threw me for a complete loop. I am not sure how they make that work. It makes zero sense with her personality. But I am sure I will still watch.

Cliffhanger Spoilers - what was going to happen
theRealKidneythief5 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Since this series is over (much to my disappointment), I did read that the writers intended on opening up the next season revealing that the ending was "just a bad dream." Yep, you read that correctly. They were going to it-was-just-a-dream the cliffhanger. Oh well.

I genuinely liked the chemistry the leads had and although the mystery plots were generally muddled and ridiculous (but fun!), I'm bummed we will not get any more Mystery 101.

I'm hoping Hallmark can come up with some more fun mystery series along the lines of Garage Sale Mysteries, Aurora Teagarden and Mystery 101. Until then, I'll keep enjoying the occasional one-offs.

WOW! Excellent Installment
agambre2 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Mystery 101 is the best mystery series HMM has ever created. Each episode is better than previous ones. Jill and Kris are the most talented among Hallmark actors. Kudos to the writers!

On this episode, it was hard to guess bad guys from good ones. It seemed that everyone was suspect.

I watched this episode with a group of friends. We were so excited that Amy and Travis showed more PDAs and proclaimed love with each other. Until "11 months later" and Travis said "he is Amy's fiancé." That one statement burst our bubbles. Can't wait for the next one.

We are in the 21st century! Being pregnant and working is not a sin 🤗

basic
SnoopyStyle11 September 2021
Amy Winslow (Jill Wagner), her father (Robin Thomas), and Travis Burke (Kristoffer Polaha) travel to Ithaca, New York when her uncle goes missing. There is evidence pointing to foul play. Amy and Travis help Sheriff Ridgeway (Lorne Cardinal) investigate the case.

This is a Mystery 101 episode from Hallmark Mysteries. This one is basic murder mystery with a basic murder solving team. Wagner and Polaha seems to be a stable team although they are not generating a lot of energy this time around. There is a big twist. They are jamming a lot of revealing into a short time. It's the basic everybody gather in a room as the solvers explain the mystery to the suspects. It's basic mystery 101.

Keeps you guessing!
ISmellSnow4 August 2021
I love how the movie keeps the audience guessing the whole time. Sure, a lot of characters were giving out weird vibes but they really didn't give much a way. The last few seconds are jarring, but it's Hallmark... we know it'll all be okay in the end!

Love the series, but disappointed with this episode
texasfarmgal4 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I love the series and have watched all the episodes more than once, but this episode just seemed to fall entirely flat. The writing was completely out of character and some of the twists didn't even make sense. It was like some of the twists were after thoughts that they went back and added later and haphazardly tried to tie in with the storyline.

A lot of 'dead space' in the characters dialog. Flat voices and lack of emotion which was out of character for all of them. Her dad barely put up a fight about sending his daughter out on a dangerous ransom drop. Even the actors didn't seem to believe the dialog and it showed. The filming was odd too. Very odd angles on the shots and shots that remained for a long time as if trying to take up extra time and drag out the movie.

This has been my favorite series on Hallmark along with Aurora, I hope they bring the old writing back so that the characters can return to their old selves instead of these new odd strangers.

Another good installment
youngandrestless123452 August 2021
The story was kinda convoluted but they always are in these. I did not guess the ending, but it was still entertaining. The leads Travis and Amy are THE reason to watch. AND this one has a teaser for another installment.

Twrtining.

Love this series please don't disappoint me in the next!
Elle353 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I gave this a 10 only because I love this series, I think they overplay her father always blocking them from connecting, not a healthy thing in a relationship at their age even though I like her close to her father and her and her father working together in the series, this one was so predictable to me...I predicted the ending and all that were involved and why they would be...this one seemed to lack the luster of the others and also the scenes to be just going through the motions regarding creativity. ...I also hated the random 11 month later cliff hanger! Please make the next one better because I want them together and this series to stay creative!

10/10. EXCELLENT
ashlyansalam6 August 2021
EXCELLENT. But this is my least favourite of Mystery 101 Film Series. I like Amy and Travis solving crimes in their Home town along with Budd, Clair and Mr. Winslow. I think Budd's character comes into end last film itself. Really missed him. The Story was Awesome.

Not traditional Hallmark style but very Lee Goldberg
SunnyDaise3 October 2021
For years, I've wanted a few more twists in Hallmark movies and just when I'd finally accepted and even appreciated that'll never happen, I saw this! Weirdly, it felt very familiar, then I remembered Mystery 101 is by Lee Goldberg, one of the few authors I've actually read - thanks to the Diagnosis Murder books. Whilst there is some subtle humour, this instalment is a little bit darker/more shocking than usual and definitely factors highly on the intrigue scale - perhaps not the best thing to watch before sleep.

Mystery 101: Deadly History
JoBloTheMovieCritic4 August 2021
5/10 - I'm afraid this is the weakest entry in the Mystery 101 series so far and was not a very engaging mystery all in all.

Shocking Ending
mtepper-983-9071217 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The movie was good as usual, but the ending was shocking. It spoiled the movie for me. On the other hand, it was a relief to not have someone dead at the beginning of the movie when the song "Who Can It Be Now" was played.

Nobody knows you like your family...except when they don't.
cgvsluis11 August 2021
Still in the top three of the mystery series on Hallmark, in my opinion of course. Solving a mystery based on the things that were missing...I always like being inspired to read new things, like a Sherlock Holmes mystery.

In this episode, Travis goes to Ithaca New York with Grahame and Amy to help them locate Alister Winslow, Amy's uncle and Grahame's baby brother who has gone missing.

I enjoyed the banter between Amy and her ex-aunt about how their literary specialties suit them: Victorian Literature-all about avoidance and obfuscation Crime Literature-lays everything out.

"You know what some of my favorite things are?....security cameras."-Travis.

I am loving the growth of Amy and Travis' relationship and was going to say that I loved the ending...but the truth is the 11 months later has me concerned. Please, please, please do not mess Travis and Amy up!!!!!

Still one of my favorite series, now I am dying for the next one. I love the great observations by Amy and Travis and I really enjoy their relationship...the humor and unintentional interruptions by the dad. These fantastic adults being reduced to embarrassed teens, and they do it so well. Such a great team!

"I did not use that exact word...I mean I'm not against using that word."-Amy.

"Dashiel Hammet wrote the problem with putting 2 and 2 together is sometimes you get 4 and sometimes you get 22."-Amy/Grahame.

You had me at, when Travis said I trust you with my life.

My Favorite Mystery 101
juliefolden31 October 2021
This episode is my favorite of them all, followed closely by episode 6. Love the chemistry between the 2 actors. The cliff hanger at the end has me wanting the next installment now! Hope we get more than 2 in 2022!

I may lower my rating
hypzrkunt3 August 2021
Horrible makes no sense ending.

The episode was good it had some depth and we enjoyed the almost ending.

Than they threw that ending garbage. Zero sense don't care about 11 months out. They drag you for 6 episodes through garbage than throw this in. Horrible makes no sense

No way that happens in a real scenario. I am One not to be hooked upon on a series but I liked the leads and stories while not earth shattering had legs. That ending was so bad come on your viewers aren.t morons. No it's just the writers who are. Good series trying to drag legs out of the wrong thing. Drag legs out of the collaboration andomance.

Aurora teegarden could get married so can amy. Just silly screw the viewer ending.

Loved this Series
ladycatkins14 May 2023
I loved this series. It was fun and still caught the viewer up in the mystery. Each movie had a great cast and a great set of mysteries to keep us guessing. I loved the literary references and how they tied into that particular episode. I cheered when Amy and Travis finally got around to admitting their feelings then totally peeved with the "11 months later" epilogue of this last episode. But since Hallmark has chosen not to put their money where their writers were leading us and cancelled the series I choose to ignore that epilogue. It never happened. The series ended with a kiss in a hospital and that's that!
