"You can't just do what you want, Susan"
skteosk18 August 2009
The "I'm Sparticus" moment among the teens increases with everyone joining in.Typically, the consequences of this are ignored:Did Dan fail them all like he threatened to last episode? It's slightly odd that Bridget is absent when the others are going through their punishment. There's a half-hearted attempt to have some interaction between Kate and the other teenagers but it's a bit random and doesn't really come to anything.Zeke loading the car with luggage while Declan and Ringo get flustered is a nice moment.

Karl is extremely underhand when cancelling the appointment but it leads to a nice confrontation between him and Susan where he points out the complete illogic of the situation:Everyone's acting as though having another baby is life and death for Libby which seems a bit extreme.

The montage of the oldies is presumably meant to be an emotional moment but just underlines that almost all of them have been turned into people it's impossible to care about.Paul saying he deserves to be in jail doesn't alter the fact he's on about his 47th chance by now. If the action is simultaneous, you wonder why Karl and Susan are eating dinner at bedtime. At least we have Toadie there to lighten the mood by showing a complete lack of interest in Libby and Dan's woes.
