I absolutely loved Valkyria Chronicles' 15th episode, "The Songstress's Past!" First of all, I have to say that the episode description on IMDb is completely false and misleading, so don't pay any attention to it. Instead, let me give you a proper summary of what actually happens.

Following the intense Fouzen operation, Captain Varrot orders all Squad leaders to take a well-deserved break to rest and boost morale. It's during this downtime that Squad 7 decides to participate in a talent show, and they ask Rosie to represent them. However, Rosie refuses to sing if Isara is present, which causes tension within the group. When Isara confronts Rosie about her behavior, we finally learn about Rosie's tragic past.

Rosie's parents were killed by Darcsen guerrillas during the First Europan War, and she holds a deep-seated hatred for all Darcsens as a result. The guerrillas had wrongly accused Rosie's father of betraying their location to the Imperial soldiers, and they attacked her home in retaliation. This revelation adds a new layer of depth to Rosie's character, and it's heartbreaking to see how much pain she's been carrying with her for all these years.

Despite their differences, Isara decides to put aside her own feelings and agrees to forgo the festivities if Rosie agrees to sing. Faldio, who has been keeping his feelings for Alicia hidden, also plays a pivotal role in this episode. He orders Isara to accompany him to the barracks, and it's revealed that he has a secret plan to help Alicia learn more about her Valkyria powers.

The episode culminates in a beautiful and emotional performance by Rosie, which is a testament to the power of music and its ability to bring people together. And, of course, we can't forget about Faldio's confession of love to Alicia, which is sure to leave fans swooning.

Overall, "The Songstress's Past" is a fantastic episode that delves deeper into the characters and their personal struggles. The animation and music are top-notch, and the storytelling is truly exceptional. I would highly recommend this episode to anyone who is a fan of Valkyria Chronicles or just looking for a great anime to watch. It's definitely a 10/10 in my book!
