Mr. Hutton (Billy De Wolfe) summons Dave (Joby Baker) and Larry (Ronnie Schell) into his office. A government investigator, Mr. Benson (George Tyne), arrives announcing that he is there to investigate a record promoter who is paying off disc jockeys for playing certain records. Dave and Larry are suspects and admit guilt, but recall they were forced. A flashback story introduces us to record promoter Mickey Mouze (standup comedian Jan Murray). The duo are insulted when he tries to bribe them to play a record and they throw him out. He leaves the record and they see an old friend and wish to help her out, so they play the record for her. Dave and Larry go to Palm Springs to play golf where Mickey Mouze shows up at their door repeatedly trying to reward them.
