Fetch quests
tinlittlenerd28 May 2021
Bad Batch is supposed to be a continuation of the Clone Wars but the formatting of the episodes feels much more like The Mandalorian. Go to the planet, meet the contact, complete the job, repeat. Like Mando, I expect all the seeds that are being planted to build to something great in the finale, but right now there's just too much filler. This isn't like Clone Wars where it's a new journey every 4 episodes; this feels like one journey being stretched far too long. Still hopeful for the rest of the series though and the quality has still been A1 regardless of formatting.

The Rancor!!

Warning: Spoilers
Seriously, Jabbas (baby) Rancor stole the show. I will never be able to watch ROTJ the way I did until this episode anymore.

Where is the Bad Batch power?
danielcp-0135828 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Are you telling me these guys can handle an army without help and now four slavers with whips are beating them the first time?

What are you selling me?

Again Omega has to get the chestnuts out of the fire. Something interesting is the explanation of the origin of the Rancor that almost gobbled Luke in Jabba's palace. Please, we want adventures without focusing on Omega.

It's just so... Meh!
SHU_Movies29 May 2021
Nothing at all special about this episode. Animation is cool, a couple of cameos are cool, the slavers from Clone Wars look even better with the more recent animation style, but everything else just feels really bland.

Mouchie

Warning: Spoilers
It's not a filler episode, this is a cross roads episode. Do we trust Syd and take more jobs to earn money to keep our options open in fleeing a bounty Hunter that we know from the Mandelorian and risk being sold out or do we just take the money and run ?? What is that cool crossbow that omega collected ?? Feel bad that we meet Mouchie the Rancor that Luke eventualy kills in ROTJ. He's kinda cute.

Star Wars TV will just keep telling the same plots over and over again
isaactheanimator28 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
When I first read the episode description, I knew exactly what this episode was gonna be about. The Bad Batch go on a side mission to retrieve important information, they find the bounty which turned out not to be a human but a creature??? And then they bring him back and get the information. First it was with the stuck in a planet episode, and then the get some fuel episode, and here we are. After the first episode, it just couldn't know how to keep the pace up. It really makes me feel that Omega was really just brought in because they had to make the series more for kids if they felt they were ever gonna screw up making the Bad Batch more interesting. And they kinda don't all that much. I liked them in the Clone Wars arc because of their tactical advantages. But there doesn't seem to be any tactic work here. The action is either storm in, shoot, or get captured. It's very contrived in a lot of areas and it never made for such creative action. The story seems to be dragging too. The Kamino stuff was interesting to learn and seeing how Crosshair adapts into it was what made the series feel dark and changing for the Clone Wars series. But anything that's with Omega and the BB. It's dull and the exact same stuff I don't like with the Mandalorian. The planets are also very formulaic, but at least you get to see how beautiful it is, am I right???

I really feel I should bring this up because nobody else seems to really say it. But Lucasfilm Animation has never been the same after Clone Wars got cancelled in 2013/4. Every since with Rebels. It struggled to find the same footing it used to have. Even Clone Wars Season 7 struggled. I knew that a lot of things that were changed from the first 2 arcs that were already drafted felt very cheap and done for the sake of cheap fan appeasement. The 3rd arc did feel like it was at its best but even that has a lot of limitations compared to the previous Clone Wars seasons. And a lot of the dialogue felt too recapping of the show's previous establishments. There wasn't anything new or innovative that was coming out and it really went with the bare minimum of what was expected. When LFA does something new, it's only 1 episode every 5 for every season that comes with 15-22 episodes a season. I know TCW wasn't all that perfect and it did started a bit rough, but it did have 15 out of 20 unique ideas. And the animation and action was still very enjoyable at its time. I can't really seem to enjoy a lot of the action or animation here because it's very rare and kind of static. Clone Wars's animation felt exploring. Bad Batch and Rebels sometimes have characters move too much in one shot and they look very static when shooting at things in an action scene.

I don't have no hope for the show whatsoever despite my long rant. I feel from the little confidence I have that it'll still show some good stuff along the way. Every time they do Kamino or Crosshair stuff, I'll be interested. But the Bad Batch plot is just annoying and holding the show back at this point. It could've done so much more but it doesn't.

People are touchy

I actually find these episodes quite entertaining. Quality is very good. Saturday morning cartoons. That's what I see in Mando and that's what I see now. As a fan I can't ask for much more. I'm just happy we get to explore this Era.

Another nice episode that's setting up later events
kaijoseph-7291929 May 2021
I'm beginning to realize many folk have zero patience, every episode can't be something groundbreaking and thrilling, they are clearly setting up characters and groundwork for potentially more major arcs down the road.

This is literally only the 5th episode of a 16-episode season. This isn't new to Star Wars either, seems like people are just being real antsy cause this series is weekly. Clone Wars wasn't exactly hot off the bat either. That said, this episodes like the past two is somewhat average, but it is evident they are continuously introducing characters and events that are most likely to be recurring for what are likely going to more major conflicts for the Batch later.

Very mando style of episode
ha77y73ad9730 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Not going to say this is a bad episode but does feel a different show to what was shown in the original trailers. From the feel of the trailers this would have been a clone wars 2.0 but feels like mando 0.5. Go to a planet, find a contact, help the locals and then move on instead of the 3 episode story arcs we've been used to in the previous series.

This is not to say that i dont like the series, this episode is another great bit of fan service conecting this to the wider galaxy and the movies. The realisation of the holo being a Twi'lek still didnt jog my memory until the baby Rancor came charging out. Filoni loves to redesign baby version of aliens! Just the sad note that we know how her life will end at the hands of Luke.

Overall this is another episode that is apart of a series that seems to just getting going. We still have 10 episodes to look forward to still enjoying the work for the revitalised Lucasfilm Animation team.

Set up
Trey_Trebuchet17 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
While certainly not a great episode, it seems to be setting up something bigger. I do want to see more interesting missions and fights involving the Bad Batch though. I actually like Omega so far. Call me overly-tolerant if you will, but I don't think she's that annoying.

The rancor plot was kind of a delightful surprise. Kind of sucks knowing what happens to them though...

Anyway, I hope this season picks up. I'm enjoying it for the most part and I do like the characters, but I'd like to see less filler.

Protect Omega at every cost.
movieturtle201328 May 2021
It's an entertaining episode. We finally get to see Omega in action.

Is it worth the wait? Kind of.

I like the series and I'm going to keep watching it with great interest, but it would be better if they'd release it in its entirety or to binge it after all the episodes are out.

Anyways... Omega is freaking amazing.

The charm has gone
AleksandrBelenko27 June 2021
This season started with a blast. I enjoyed episode 1.

But after that everything went downhill.

Omega is annoying brat. I understand she is a kid and had never seen outside world, but her action are not fun in any way.

And sure this episode she basically doing the mission on her on, and was fine with it. But not enough to redeem her previous stupidity.

The plot is so basic, the twist doesn't look that exciting.

I still have hope for this series, but Bad Batch as a show and as a military group looks weaker than at first appearance.

Meh, losing interest.
davidjohnsonjd1 June 2021
Season 1 of Clone Wars was awful, and the remaining seasons were mostly excellent. The Bad Batch is okay. The focus on the kid is exhausting and uninteresting.

Fun but repetitive episode.
fireandblood-464007 June 2021
Had fun watching this forsure but it is starting to get repetitive and almost seems like the writing is trying to make me annoyed by everything omega does.... Maybe its just me.

Warning: Spoilers
The origins (sort of) of the Rancor that Jabba did love so. An interested episode no doubt, they do advance the main plot very slightly episode by episode though not much as been spilled since the first episode thus far.

The Mandalorian S2 Vibes here.

Warning: Spoilers
Not gonna lie but I like Cid. Anyway, it's a good episode. I wish there were more of action but whatever, Hunter kicked ass the most. Especially when he got the grip of that whip weapon. Crazy of how we got the backstory of Muchi known as that creature who tried to kill Luke Skywalker in ROTJ. That's sad considering she was Jabba's slave for decades. Go Omega!

9/10.

Not that Muchi going on.
A_Kind_Of_CineMagic22 May 2022
In this episode the Bad Batch are sent on a mission to extract a prisoner from slavers in order to gain information about bounty hunter Fennec Shand. It turns out this prisoner is actually a baby Rancor monster called Muchi.

Muchi is cute and the story is a bit of fun but it is all very much a filler and I was getting more and more impatient with the series being so much filler without really moving storylines forward.

My rating: 6.5/10.

Who is omega?
splinters-4936030 May 2021
I have a theory. I believe Omega is Reys mother. Haven't done the math on the timeline... but I have a strong feeling. I welcome any thoughts on this. I just want this In print in case I end up being right. She is obviously special... and this would tie in to the future nicely. Plus the accent...accident? Coincidence? Maybe.. maybe not.

Not A lot of action
hammerhead-dk28 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It was refreshing to see an ROTJ character in Bib Fortuna show up to get the baby Munchi. You will see what I am talking about when you watch the episode. Cid was a welcome surprise, I wish the writers would have let unto more of how Cid help the Jedi during the days of the Republic. Again Omega, seems to either be force-sensitive and her genetic make-up is from a Jedi midichlorian count or was reversed engineered.

Filoni needs to pick up the pace of the show, because on Friday's I am looking forward to watching Bad Batch- And I am growing a little frustrated with the slowness of the story.

Anybody again with this notion, or am I trippin?

Nothing on Crosshair yet, so they should be bringing him into the fold in the next episode or that character arc was a waste of time.

I'm enjoying this show
adamspencer-692477 June 2021
Before starting this show I had small expectations. It's really starting to seem like the Star Wars rebels show. Omega and Ezra are similar I'm many ways and I like the rest of the crew as well.

Wash.. Rinse.. Repeat..
ecsecs-9122527 June 2021
This is playing out to be the same theme as The Mandalorian with Omega as the new baby yoda, this protect her at all costs... why what for? At least with baby yoda it made sense. Anyway The BAD BATCH are supposed to be tough intelligent experienced battle hardened warriors! During the clone wars they took out entire divisions with brute strength smarts and guile, now they're running scarred of ONE lone bounty hunter and they struggle and blunder with easy side quests??? SPOILER: And about this side quest.. Jabba, the most powerful and feared gangster in this era of star wars, he would get his ranchor back by just demanding it (who would deny him). At the very least he would have had his own people deal with it (harshly!!!). I sincerely hope this builds to a bigger story of interest.
