Aunt Hannah (Jeanette Nolan, "The Virginian", "Dirty Sally") is making her annual visit to the Tarletons. Every year around this time her "visions come on". She is well known along the river for her prophecies. The Tates, Mr. Brent, and Mr. Whitt come to see her hold a prophecy show at midnight. It's interrupted when Grandpa accidentally rocks over Mr. Whitt's foot, upsetting his ulcer. After learning his astrological sign Tammy repeats the last prophecy, "Limping Libra tense and taught, under pressure he was caught." A second prophecy also fits: "An accident with none to blame fans a searing solar flame." Tammy reads into more situations that attest to the accuracy of Aunt Hannah's prophecies. When the first four prophecies come true, they all dread to see who will be the victim of the fifth- a bad business investment.
