A cute little short

Warning: Spoilers
Shrewd Inspector Casey (nicely played by Karl Webster) investigates a crime scene which appears to be an apparent homicide. He deduces that the perpetrator Charlie (an amiable portrayal by Renaud Jadin) inadvertently caused his date Francine (an engaging turn by the attractive Kate Skinner) to explode into flames of pure animal lust by applying too much man spray to his body. Writer/director Zoe Harvey concocts a witty and stylish mini-homage to vintage 40's film noir. Paul Howard's sharp black and white cinematography gives the movie an appropriately smoky'n'moody look with a few bold splashes of striking loud color added to further spice up the picture's overall enticing visual quality. Neill Duncan's jaunty score complete with neat whistled theme likewise hits the bull's eye. The climax is a total hoot. And stick around for the hilarious mug shot photo montage that's featured in the snazzy ending credits. An amusing item.
