How do you make 1 hour & 17 minutes feel like an eternity?? Watch this movie
movieman_kev15 October 2009
A man and his pregnant girlfriend on vacation stop at a seedy rundown motel when they're accosted by a couple of sadistic couple of hoodlums who are always on the lookout for new people to abduct for their boss's white slavery ring where he brainwashes them into doing whatever he desires.

The acting in this one is simply awful and for a film that's only 1 hour & 19 minutes, it seems to stretch on for far longer than that. The lame characterization is shallow & for the most part unbelievable. Furthermore I don't really believe that the director truly has a firm grasp on what Stockholm Syndrome is (and if he does it's not reflected in this movie) So the title of the film itself is a misnomer. This film is simply worthless all around.

Eye Candy: Lena Nazarei and an extra both get topless but it's not hot in the least due to the subject matter

DVD Extras: Commentary with director/writer/producer Ryan Cavalline; a 32 minute Behind the scenes featurette; an interview with Ryan Cavalline; trailer for this movie; and trailers for "the Craving" & "Taste of Flesh"

Bad acting crosses the line
beth-1227323 April 2020
Not only is the acting intolerable, the script is not natural or believable. The characters are hard to follow and the whole theme is wrapped around horrific minds. It's warped and should be destroyed.

Inspiring

Bad in every possible way. It does show, however that anyone with an iphone and a handful of friends can make a movie and get it on "Prime." If the cast and crew had any talent this could be a film that would trigger outrage. Unfortunately they don't As such, it comes off as a bizarre comedy. As I mentioned before, a person can make a movie if they have friends willing to partake. The problem lies in the fact that moat peoples friends are not actors. Although I'm not a huge fan of most actors as human beings--many do have actual talent. Said talent creates a realistic viewing experience. This is just an assortment of people off the street in 'costumes' ad libbing some dialogue. There is not one genuine moment of suspense, horror or excitement because of these 'performances'. I'm all for people pursuing their dreams, but life is short. IF you watch this movie (without skipping) those are 80 minutes of your life that you will never get back. (I made it about 35-ish minutes before the scrubbing began.)

Traumatic
econnochie-1372914 January 2024
This film is honestly disgusting, twisted and sick.

Not only was the acting horrific but the actions and scenes are literally traumatising. Not worth 5 minutes of my time. Turned it off. This should be banned in my personal opinion and the director seriously needs some therapy to have even thought of some of this. Watching this movie obviously reading the description did not think that some of the scenes would honestly be that awful and sick. This film should at least come with a viewer's discretion as to some of the content in here. Fully traumatised and I wish I never even put this movie on my screen. Disgusting.

If you like August Underground etc, this is for you!
The few reviews that are here were written by people who did not know what they were getting in to. This is TRUE independent shock cinema. Not simply "indie" because it wasn't made by one of the major studios. Too many people use the same barometer for judging ALL films, when in actuality, it is impossible to do that without missing something. If the same criteria is used to judge this film as other indie films (eg Napoleon Dynamite, Peanut Butter Falcon, etc) then of course it's going to suck. Approach this for what it is folks...a truly independently made film.

As it pertains to shock cinema, this is actually one of the better pieces I've seen in a while. While some of the acting is standard shock cinema fare, I give props to nearly every female in this. GREAT screams, and very convincing fear. Some of the men were just hideous, but as I said...the movie was is shock cinema. Not something made for the purpose of winning an Oscar for Best Actor.

There are truly some vile scenes in the movie. On par with Headless (another GREAT modern day masterclass in shock cinema). Could the fx have been better? Sure, but for a micro budget movie, the gore is excellent.

Look...don't go in to this looking for character depth, convincing role playing, and complex story lines. This is exploitation for the purpose of being "wrong." There are loads of truly independent movies out there, and most are just absolutely hideous. At least this one gets the formula right...spend what budget you have on making the gore is realistic as possible and let everything else fall where it may.

For fans of August Underground, the Guinea Pig series etc. Great gore, killer screams, and even some topless shots. Exploitation the way it was meant to be. If you're looking for something other than filthy exploitation, don't watch this. If you want a mindless hour and 15 minutes of blood, guts, near-term abortions with coat hangers, and mayhem, then get your popcorn and settle in for a quick watch.

Absolutely stunning movie. My favorite part is the 100% stunning is the coat hanger abortion. Looks soo real. All of this looks so real and totally not shot on an android.
