Warning: Spoilers
Loved the flashback to the Payback era. It was tragic and well filmed. Black Noir unveiling his mask was a highlight too. It's definitely an emotional episode for Butcher. The Boys are moving towards new goals, but at the same time Starlight loses leverage. Homelander is getting more out of hand than ever, and I have the feeling the rest of the season is going to be a bumpy ride. The Deep has one particular scene in this episode that'll make you cringe like never. The whole dynamics are changing inside Vought Tower. Is it weird that I'm kinda happy A-Train rekindled his relationship with his brother ? Hoping for more Maeve soon.

TIMOTHY!!!!!

Warning: Spoilers
Great episode, lots of people getting bent about 'wokeness' and they clearly can't see its satire. More fool them. It's a piss take of both sides really.

After all that drama, the homelight bombshell and not enough of Soldier boy ( can't wait for his proper introduction because... Jensen ), I'm just sat here feeling sad for Timothy and his now orphan offspring.

Looking forward to the next one. For me, this show never disappoints.

Continuing the Drama of the New Ride of a Season
calebsmoke3 June 2022
A bit less wild than the previous episode, but definitely still some major highlights and plot points. Also, every episode I wonder how this one will be darker than the last. And every time, it gets darker. But, as per usual, in The Boys's classic, wild way. Excellent directing and acting. I just wish I didn't have to wait a week for the next episode.

Theybare making fun of both sides
jusglenn4 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I dont get all the bad reviews complaining about the "wokeness". They are literally making fun of both sides lmao calm down ppl. Ppl are so offended, theyre not paying attention to whats happening. I also like that the show is displaying how corporations fund both sides of the political spectrum, then sit around and laugh at us all behind the scenes. Stop ebing so offended, and realize the show is fairly criticizing both sides.

The Boys has always been super violent, but its best shocking moments are ones without blood ... I can't wait to see where the rest of the season goes!

Great episode
samjstory4 June 2022
Egrets episode that was tense and every well acted and had a great flashback scene. Also, to everyone complaint that it's woke, strop watching. TV and Movies now adays are political ok. It's also jabbing at both sides, and it's satire. Everyone just relax sand watch the show, or turn it off if it pisses you off so much.

Typical homelander
philipgriffin-245823 June 2022
Till this season, homelander is still relevant in every scene he's in. This guy is insane. And that Soldier boy bit was FUNNY omg.

This season slaps harder than Will Smith did.

It's a 10 star.
xuajsten3 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode needs a ten star for those who favour constant action of a fantastic story. I absolutely love it. Homelander is totally nuts. The kid is finally growing some balls and poor Timothy.

I can only say that I've never watch a show with as many wtf moments as the boys. It's absolute gold.

Well done.

#homelight.

You noticed the homage to Britney?
alejim-637785 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I mean, the final song is the perfect representation of Britney Spears. The same way that Homelander forced Stralight to accept Deep in the team and "opening" themselves for the public, Britney was forced to do and say things because you know... I'm not gonna say the entire story.

Fumble?
safods3 June 2022
This is like watching a possible fumble in slow motion and you dont know if the ball will be dropped or not. I fear it will. The first two seasons I had no troubles with where the plot was going, this year I have to stop and remind myself, "what....what was it again?" The acting is great as usual, but the writing is subpar. It's very repetative and a bit boring and lackluster.

When in doubt, just blow up some humans.

When in doubt have Homelander make his crazed look, again and again.

The Deep has to be humiliated.

Rinse repeat.

Hopefully it will pick up towards the end and the ball wont touch the ground.

Warning: Spoilers
Just kidding.

I'm really digging this season so far.

The flashback with Payback was really well done and added a new layer to Grace that I found to be necessary. That whole scene felt like it could have been it's own movie, and the actress playing younger Grace did a GREAT job.

I'm so freakin' nervous whenever Homelander is on screen as usual. I keep hating him more and more with each passing season and episode. He's such a well written and acted character. The dinner scene was especially brutal and sad.

I'm anxious to see what happens to literally all of the characters. This is truly exciting television.

Kind of dull
RainerJohns3 June 2022
First one was great and very fun but the last two could easily been made into one episode. Everyone seems to be running in circles, should I shouldnt I and again, not to mention like someone else mentioned, the characters keep doing the same things that we've been seeing for two seasons now.

We have already seen Homelander be mean and looking at everyone like he wishes to laser them in half, having fun with innocents or torturing Deep.

Thats all been done, even resolved partially at least and Deep getting some resolution and emotional payback.

But now it seems the writers are just repeating it all again exactly the same.

Wheres the plot, wheres the story? I feel the story will fit on one page, all the rest will be more or less unrelated side stories with characters repeating themselves.

Kinda boring...

Everyone except Homelander and Deep are so boring!
lovemichaeljordan4 June 2022
Deep is crazy but his story is captivating. We feel bad for him and his acting is superb. You know something weird is about to go down when he's near water animals. There's one scene which is very hard to watch.

There's not much to say about Homelander. He is one of the scariest villains in television history. He steals every scene he's in and he makes every viewer nervous.

Ruins Butcher (again)
Meris14217 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was going fine till it erupted terribly. Butcher threatens to have hundreds of CIA operatives killed to force Mallory to explain her backstory. Why wouldn't she tell them anyway? Her MO was to kill supers yet she shut down investigation into a device that might be able to do it. Because she thinks Butcher is evil? Really??? So dumb. After leaving Butcher then gets so annoyed at Ryan that he emotionally destroys him by saying that he never will forgive him for the death of Beckah even though that wasn't his fault????? It's hard to express how brain dead he is in this scene. One of the good things about the season 2 finale was the idea that Butcher may have to overcome his racism for the love of his son, there have been all these wholesome scenes with Butcher and Ryan in the past episodes but now it's all pissed away in a completely unjustified way. And then. AND THEN Hughie tells him he was right to abuse his son. WHAT THE HELL. It's such an out of character thing for Hughie to say of all people. But before we can really process that it gets interrupted by a puke joke, cause shocking HAHAHAHAHAHA FUNNNYYYYYY!

Flashbacks and consequences
ha77y73ad9714 June 2022
Every episode going forward in this series seems to be be getting better and better! Waiting another week for the next episode is honestly better than getting all of the episodes in one go. So much enjoyment is waiting for that next episode. Old school but the best way.

The Flashbacks were just awesome and the abruptness of halting the story for the aftereffects that Butcher was experiencing! Just perfectly timed and well written.

Overall another example of the series setting up so many great stories.

It's like two shows in one
Riddler914 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
This is how I feel about this show, it's like two shows in one. One it's good, it involves an interesting plot with Soldier Boy and Homelander letting loose. The other is a collection of cringiness. The whole "selling drugs only to minorities to destabilize them" was soo bad, I rolled my eyes into the back of my head. When is this victim mentality going to go away? Also, the whole fixation on women and smiling, so what if they're being told to smile? Smiling is a good thing, we should all do it more often. Then comes the part where the writers decide to attack the fight against communism because if there's one thing we can always count on progressives for, is to defend communism. I like one part of the show, but I totally hate the other part.

Weakest episode so far
robotintroverted10 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I don't really know what to say about this episode; it was great but not nearly as good as any episode of The Boys. I think the episode; I had a Problem with Pacing overall, especially with the Solider Boy flashbacks.

I think this episode was more or less setup for the next episode, it was still great! But there still some moments that felt off to me.

The Homelander Moments are incredible, especially with that ending I never would've seen coming from a mile away!

This episode really emphasises how close The Boys are to their breaking point. Billy has had enough, and gets mad at Ryan. MM doesn't know whether or not to run from the team. Hughey has been getting effed for ages, and has had enough. Frenchie and Kimiko just want to leave The Boys once and for all but can't.

Overall, this episode was a great character episode, with some great moments!

7/10 overall!

S3.E3 - Homelander Steals the Show! [9.6/10]
panagiotis199325 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
(S3. E3) My Reaction / Review for The Boys Season 3 Episode 3 ''Barbary Coast'': Episode 2 was good and I gave it a rating of 9.3/10. Let's see if this one is better or worse. The way kid Starlight dances is really uncomfortable and a bit creepy to watch. People loved Homelander's speech? I didn't expect that, that's cool. Wow the way Homelander talked to Starlight was amazing. Starlight thinks she can blackmail him with the plane video but Homelander would destroy everything if that happened, I love it. I prefer A-Train's old suit, the new one looks cheesy. Temp V causes Butcher to suffer. The scene where Deep eats the octopus was so disgusting, Homelander forced him and I love it. The Deep is officially back on the team plus Supersonic, exciting. Homelander and Starlight are ''a couple'', that's so crazy. Overall an amazing episode, my rating is 9.6/10.

sepetcenk27 July 2022
I never noticed or seen Sarah Swire in a movie or series until this episode. It is pleasure to watch her. I hope she get a lead role in a big blockbuster movie like Salt. Salt 2 maybe. Would be fantastic wouldn't it.. The season 3 is better than the 1st and 2nd btw.

Fake Relationship
ZegMaarJus29 June 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This Episode begins with Young Starlight, she competes in a singing competition. Starlight gave a great performance. Billy still has a hard time, also after he killed Gunpowder. Billy and Hughie visit Grace and Ryan. Grace tells the story about her life in the past. The Deep and Cassandra have sex with each other. Billy had a brawl with Grace about the Russians. The Deep has rejoined The Seven. The newest member of The Seven is Supersonic, also The Deep got announced as new member. Homelander says that he and Starlight are in love. Starlight kissed with Homelander. Nice Episode of The Boys Season 3, what a great ending. Homelander and Starlight are faking a relationship!

Unrelentingly dark
Leofwine_draca1 October 2022
The show continues to be unrelentingly dark at this point and it seems to be going out of its way to make the viewer uncomfortable. Hence the scenes with Butcher and the kid and the Deep in particular. However, certain characters continue to shine through, with Anthony Starr's pitch-perfect performance as Homelander continuing to be a real asset to the series. Elsewhere, there are some gross moments and some back story scenes that really don't add all that much, but at least it moves at speed and is never dull. One of the weirdest aspects of this series is Erin Moriarty's face, which has been oddly CGIed for some reason and as such is highly distracting.

This season started well, but wokification is getting out of hand
ramta-855754 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I always felt like The Boys' satire was generally even handed and subtle. It was a glowing contradiction to the onslaught of bullshit we get from other shows. However, it seems that this season they are turning full woke and this has been getting worse over the first three episodes. We've seen how a certain group of people getting vilified, those white men with their guns, racism and admiration for (Trump) Homelander. And even if we get past that, in this episode women are again demoted to eternal victims again. After they built a strong character that overcame her abuse, seems they decided that couldn't stand. People can't get over abuse and triumph. They can only be perpetual victims. Great stuff. You keep this up, the show will soon become unwatchable.

So much unnecessary political BS but still decent episode
Definitely so many forced inclusive BS moves in this episode, not enough to ruin what is otherwise a pretty enjoyable one but it feels so forced and unnecessary, like the feminism BS smile thing, and the S. K. religious and racial twisting laser focus on that fact, and the MLK reference and just so many not so subtle allusions to left wing bias that are so unnecessary for a show where we want carnage, violence and humor.

Ok episode, but way too much political stuff .
Mr_MickyKnox4 June 2022
This episode was ok but not brilliant .I'd rather there was more of the main characters and less of the pointless ones that seem to be there to fill the time in to make the episode up to the hour mark, and the majority of the pointless characters only seem to be there for political and diversity reasons only, it just spoils the show and they add nothing to it .I hope this show isn't going to be spoiled constantly by the unnecessary political and woke stuff they keep forcing on people on a permanent basis these days.
