Phillip Heinrich uses the medium of leogmation in amazing ways in this animated short film. Stop-motion has never looked so rich. With beautiful lighting and visuals, impressive digital effects, and an enjoyable original score, there is a lot to like in "Unrenewable." Telling the story of a detective through narrative, this film is short but surprisingly full, using a variety of locations as well as a great mix of action and dialog. The futuristic world is a seamless match for the almost noir-like style, and all of the technical aspects impress. Added to Heinrich's story-telling, it all sums up to make a great film well-worth the watch.
