Interesting but pointless
Raul4ever19 April 2021
Did not get the point of this movie. Is it a message against elopement or does it want men to be more calmer towards women? Solid performances by the cast. Overall, watch it for some relationship advice. That's all really..

Waste of time and cast
abhijithsjithu19 April 2021
I never really wrote a review of a bad film but this is one of the most disastrous letdown ever. I had very few expectation for this film and some how it ever surpassed that its worst. Cast was great, elements were there but got into wrong genre, the ending is one of the worst ending I ever seen in a film and plot is pointless.arjun have huge potential but this is the worst insult for his talent. Don't waste 2 hr of your life, avoid it. I wouldn't even want to see it again even if someone would pay me to watch it. The direction was not that bad and cast was great but the biggest part of a film which is script is garbage.

Feminism...sigh
Bhomiq21 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This movie has feminist written all over it and in a horrible way. Obviously the people that have rated this movie highly are most definitely feminists. It doesn't stop trying to send messages to the viewers about how bad the male gender is and how superior females are. The male character is bad but the female character is just as bad if not worse. Saying 'my girl' and 'my dude' is not ownership for Pete's sake, get that through your heads. People take that way too literally. And by people I mean over the top feminists.

Just because eloping happens irl all the time doesn't make it right and she's literally only thinking about herself and her happiness when he deserves the same. His life could get ruined because of the embarrassment. She could have dealt with it in a smarter way, like he said, marry him and then divorce or tell their families about it because it's her choice who she marries. But running away? People seriously think that measles them smart or better people. I'm not saying he's right because he's not but she is too and I won't stand for that kind of crap. I'm a woman and I just find the whole thing dumb. They talk about women as a whole (generalisation) and I'm sorry but I don't want to be lumped into a category of feminists. Feminism is supposed to be about equality not to show how good the female gender is (which it isn't) compared to males. What, just because she's a female, she's entitled to say and do anything she wants and it's always right? Why doesn't men have the same right? They can't hit women but women can slap men? Oh yeah, real great. Total equality right there.

This movie literally sends out the message that people who don't adhere to societal rules are 'bad'. I'm sorry, but no one needs to change their views just because society calls for it. And especially not for any man or woman. It's their choice. People can be liberal, conservative-as much as they want. And I'm supposed to believe a criminal murderer psycho dude goes through all this trouble....only to teach them a lesson and doesn't even kill them? What is he, a teacher? A professor? Wow this movie was a horrible waste of time. Never again. I'm starting to think Malayalam movies are desperately trying too hard to be 'modern'.

Lagging Drama and mediocre performance
SPHariSP25 April 2021
The movie lacks content, it stretches a simple story line to a full movie. At least half of it could be edited and the movie would still be telling same story.

Samyunkta is better compared to other 2 lead casts performance. Irshad gets a big role for first time , but fails to impress other than the new look. Arjun Ashok is ok that's all.

Indugopan's script is plain and dialogs are mostly basic and other times artificial. Nothing impressive about direction either.

Pathetic movie . . .
mesor-914303 December 2021
Who the heck comes up with such bs ? No story, no message, no meaning. This has to be one of the worst movies I have ever seen in my entire life. Acting is OKish.

Such a waste of time. There is nothing that keeps you awake in the movie.

What's the point of this movie ?

Thriller ? - No, there's nothing to be thrilled about here.

Empowering women ? - absolutely no. Maybe the director went for that. But it never conveyed that message.

Drama ? - Overacting and absolutely poor scripting and dialogues.

I couldn't even finish the movie on normal speed. So I fast forwarded it.

Why would anyone recommend this movie ? - I wouldn't even do that to my worst enemy.

Poor storyline lets down the film despite good performances
nidhunmoviebuff18 April 2021
Wolf was yet another unheralded film from Zee5's recent set of Direct-to-digital Malayalam releases, the earlier ones being the moderately enjoyable Innu Mudhal and the passable thriller Krishnankutty Pani Thudangi.

It is intended as a thriller set in the time of Corona and features earnest performances from the leads-Arjun Asokan and Samyuktha Menon and a third actor who I will not name to preserve the movie's suspense.

Despite the right elements in the setup and the confrontation, the script crumbles in the third act, where the intended resolution to the key challenges in the plot comes off as too simplistic and weak.

Malayalam has delivered stellar work like Joji and C U Soon despite being constrained by single location corona-time shoots, so cannot give this effort a pass.

Not recommended. A so-called thriller that had no requisite thrills.

Interesting theme but too laggy
aneeshavail20 April 2021
Theme of the movie is nice. It starts slow, gets interesting at one point, but then movie stands at the same point and didnt move much until the 3rd character arrives. It again gets interesting when 3rd one arrive, but after sometime again movies get slow.

Means an interesting small plot, but becomes laggy due to its 1:50 hrs durarion. It could have been better if it was an 1:20 hrs movie instead of 1:50.

Warning: Spoilers
Honestly I had fun. Had a good laugh towards the end of the film. At some point I was curious as to what would happen next but they ruined it. It could have been a good thriller. Poor story, poor acting, very poor dialogues XD Great ad for SA tourism! Ayalde oru South African Simham...

Wolf Malayalam Movie Review, Out On ZEE5: A Thrilling Setup Steps Into Mansplaining Territory In This Problematic Lockdown Chamber Drama
shefali-5924424 April 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Shaji Azeez's first film Wolf, based on writer GR Indugopan's short story Chennaya, starts off promisingly. Sanjay (Arjun Ashokan) takes a detour on his way home to visit his fiancé Asha (Samyukta Menon) a couple of weeks before they are due to get married. But when he gets there, she's not pleasantly surprised nor is she excited to see him. There's an obvious indifference in her attitude and she wants him to get out of there as soon as he can. The awkwardness is hilarious and you almost feel bad for the guy. They're just days away from getting married but their 'chemistry' is that of total strangers being forced to speak to each other.
