. . . or attempted to do some hoodwinking of their own by pasting this seven-minute short among the "extras" for the OCTOPU$$Y "Ultimate Edition." At no point does anyone say that the "Ken Burns" who claims to have shot this grainy footage as a 16-year-old extra playing an East German border guard at Checkpoint Charlie is some random Joe Schmoe with NO CONNECTION TO FILMS and not THE famed Brooklyn-born American Documentarian (THE CIVIL WAR, BASEBALL, etc.) Ken Burns. The narration implies that THIS is how a great man got his start; NOT how some guy who would shoot an eight-minute short 27 years later (and four years AFTER this piece was narrated!) as his ONLY OTHER FILM CREDIT on IMDb began his "career." If I had the space, I could document 1,001 other instances in which Eon Production Company, maker of 23 notable James Bond films, has cheapened its product by always taking the stingiest short cuts available. Many of the "extras" on their ultimate editions brazenly crow about how they got away with bamboozling audiences with their extreme penny-pinching, but this nasty trick takes the cake!
