Almost impossible to appreciate from a film perspective Warning: Spoilers
"Miu Miu: Icons" is the title of this "movie" we have here, but it is more of a really short music video, actually it is a brief commercial for fashion enterprise Miu Miu as you can also see from the title. It runs for under a minute and the director is Marcus Piggott who has worked with the likes of Nicki Minaj and Madonna on their music videos in the past. Cannot say the same about writer Katie Eleanor. The stars are of course the ones you see in front of the camera. Some big names here: oscar winner Kim Basinger, Oscar nominee Chloë Sevigny and also Emma Corrin whose recent Lady Di portrayal won her many, many awards. Add to that a few people that are not super famous, at least I am not familiar with the names. Of course, an Asian component must also be included with this being for Miu Miu. Oh and you only get to see women. Not surprised. Maybe more surprised that they did not go for a female director. The song is okay I guess, the visual side does nothing for me at all. The editing is wild and they tried to fit in all they could into these fifty seconds. The result is still that you will not even appreciate what you see here if you really like one of the people in front of the camera. Blink and they're gone. Besides, from an entirely subjective perspective, I struggle really hard to see Sevigny as a mode. Looks-wise I mean. That's just me though. Overall, a really low rating from me here. The best part of this is by far the music. But that alone cannot turn it into a good watch. Not even a mediocre watch. And no, not a weak watch either. It stays highly unfulfilling and not inspired at all. Glad it was this short and I am also struggling a lot here with seeing icons in these people. This "film" surely did not tell me why I would do so.
