There is a new king of Malaysian comedy. Very funny and relatable, the good doctor hits on many universal topics, he is very charming and affable. Definitely worth the time, I look foward to the next special.

Needless to say that I had never heard about this Malaysian stand-up comedian named Dr. Jason Leong, prior to stumbling upon the "Dr. Jason Leong: Hashtag Blessed" show on Netflix by random chance. And never having heard of him, of course I opted to give him the benefit of the doubt and sit down to watch this 2020 stand-up comedy show.
And I am glad that I did, because he definitely was a funny guy and a talented stand-up comedian.
His material was good, because it was a great combination of comedy and actual intelligent stuff. So Dr. Jason Leong delivers an intellectual stand-up comedy show, which was quite good, as a lot of similar shows is with immature material below the belt, which stagnates really fast.
The way that Dr. Jason Leong sets up the jokes is really great, especially because he rounds up the setup with excellent punchlines, and manages to go back to material earlier in the show to cement punchlines and to add a sense of wholeness to the show.
I was brought to great many laughs throughout the course of the 69 minutes that the show ran for. And if you enjoy stand-up comedy, and am not familiar with this comedian, you definitely have to give his show a chance. I was genuinely surprised and entertained by "Dr. Jason Leong: Hashtag Blessed".
My rating of "Dr. Jason Leong: Hashtag Blessed" lands on a seven out of ten stars.

Hysterically funny!

I watched this twice! I'm not sure why it doesn't have a higher overall rating. I love observational and intelligent humor and Dr. Jason Leong excels at this! His humor is reminiscent of Russell Peters' observations of various ethnicities during the earlier part of his career. I recommendation this to anyone who is in need of a lighthearted break during these restrictive times.
