Not being American, I find it fascinating that whenever POC are depicted in a cult TV series, people go berserk, look for everything wrong with it, the cast, the acting, the story, the setting, the food catering for the actors, the lighting etc...ON THE FIRST EPISODE! Looking a certain way suddenly becomes a political debate. People...relax. It's just a TV show....
I didn't come in expecting much of this Fargo season 4. I loved the first 3 seasons but I kept thinking eventually, there's going to be a season that's lackluster. You can't please everyone all the time.
It had to be this one. Mainly because casting a stand-up comedian in the role of a mobster/godfather isn't credible. The whole time I keep thinking "It's Chris Rock!" Other than hat I thought it was an okay season, could've been better.
The cast, Rock aside, is interesting. Some interesting characters: the nurse, the crooked cop, the mormon played by Timothy Oliphant of Deadwood fame.
This season may have ruffled some feathers for reasons that escape me but the bizarre scenes and humour makes it a signature Fargo season. IT's FARGO alright.
