A Western? Really?
robot034024 November 2021
I've enjoyed most of the 12 Western series. Bought this one as others but... I don't as a rule prefer to leave negative comments but in this case I will. This movie flat out sucked. Not so much for the acting because it was hard to tell just what the actresses were trying/told to portray. So just leave it up to the script sucked. Sorry but this one won't come close to getting any aclaim.

Strange happenings at the cabin...

Probably about as far as you can get from a typical 'Western'.

There are definitely odd forces in play here.

The two ladies at the cabin are being provided for by 'unseen persons'.

Who are they?

Why are they doing this?

WHAT DO THEY WANT?

Suddenly everything shifts, and we appear to be caught in a re-occurring loop with events that already happened being blurred with those to come...

Mysterious, Suspenseful, Visually Captivating

Seeing the story played out in black and white definitely enhances the mystery and intrigue of the film as black and white imagery suggests isolation, the unknown, and a cold, harsh territory. Black and white images are likened to the unfolding of one's dream-like imagination upon one's first impression of hearing a story. The skilled acting with black and white imagery drew me in to attend to subtle detail and to each successive scene with much anticipation.

The moments of silent acting enabled me to tune into the feelings of the characters and wonder about their thoughts (where words could disturb the imagination).

This film was beautiful to watch. It kept my imagination engaged and it had an interesting twist.

Tis' Time

A film that would take 2 or 3 watches to really understand what was exactly going on -- though I believe that was intended.

I got a Sense of The Blair Witch in this, seasoned with The Evil Dead -- mixed in some erotic fantasy. It was tasteful though.

The scoring was wonderful -- infact my favorite part of the film really. The black and white was a wise choice for this, as it only enhanced the story.

I wish the "He's" were a little more detailed. At times it was blatantly obvious it was a costume. Which... Obviously was exactly that, but I didn't want to be taken out of it. I didn't want that wall down. I had hoped they had more screen time.

The dialogue felt very robotic and the interuptions felt very forced.

For whatever reason, I loved the Goat in this.

It was a good spooky flick just in time for Holloween!
