Two vagabonds steal a briefcase full of Bibles and decide to sell them themselves. Tram driver Cor takes pity on a young woman who has missed her stop on the final night tram and decides to give her a lift home, despite it being off his normal route.

An old fashioned dad insists on meeting his son's girlfriend to check if she is worthy of his offspring. An insecure actor asks a taxi driver to help him prepare for a stage-play in which he is to play a cab driver.

Three stories starring everyday people. Two burglars need a third man to do a job, but this man turns out to be obsessed with using the telephone every chance he gets. A cabdriver who routinely picks up the daughter of divorced parents finds a way to bring them together again. Sympathetic accountant Kwakernaak has become redundant because of the purchase of a new computer, but director Greve finds nobody capable or willing to fire the man.

Three short stories: Karel is asked to mind his neighbor's children when she goes out but before she leaves, she asks his advice in picking out the right outfit. While burgling a house, Koen runs into a little girl with stomach aches. After working late on a Friday to try and save his company from going under, director Looijakker gets stuck in the elevator with cleaning woman Van der Zan.
