A statement from Michael: "I am an actor, teacher and father of twins trying to find a direction and stay strong for my 10-year-old twins. I chose this story for its brevity, but also its gentle sweetness. When I wrote it, of course, touching someone else's hand in public wasn't forbidden." Michael Mau is a writer, teacher, father, runner, actor, tinkerer, artist, craftsman, and snappy dresser. Click here to see his acting reel. "Eyes" was originally published in A3 Review. Michael's short fiction has appeared in Black Warrior Review, New Limestone Review, Portland Review, Fifth Wednesday, Mount Hope, Firewords Quarterly, Punchnel's, Ferocious Quarterly, McSweeney's, and other places. Michael's current acting projects include the award-winning short film Fatherless, the award-winning comedy feature Our Scripted Life, and Last Holler. He voices characters in three narrative podcasts: "Haints", a supernatural historical drama, "Big Sandy", and the sci-fi thriller "Derelict".

This piece was created and recorded by Dantes Nava. A message from Dantes: I'm Dantes; 21 years old and a Multimedia artist with a focus on acting and music. Last year, I made the decision to drop out of college to really try and zone-in on my crafts. I also host a podcast myself. It is called Sweet Leaf. I talk to other artists, small business owners, and freelancers about their work, how they got there, and where they plan on going next. My ultimate dream, and a lot of how I move throughout my life, is in the name of uplifting everybody I meet. Whether it be a small interaction or a developing friendship. I am persistent in doing this because I remember a time where I lost a light in me, or when I had to witness others losing light. It was a very scary thing to experience. When everything else around me fell, and cracked, and burned, and torn. . . There was art. And my will to keep going.

A message from Andy: I have been writing my whole life. Short silly stories about dogs and princesses at age 6 evolved into poems and novels and a creative brain that yearns to tell stories through the written word. Aside from writing, I also enjoy performance in all forms and spoken word poetry is something I am only beginning to delve into, and I can't wait to explore it more. I am beyond thrilled to be a part of the "A Moment of Your Time" Podcast and to share my story on how the pandemic has been affecting us all. Andy James is a budding actor and established writer from Tasmania, Australia.
