There is an honest thrill in this
deickemeyer4 September 2017
This picture has decided merit as a picture of the uncertain life led by early settlers on the plains. It has been done before in different ways, but there is an honest thrill in this when the savages divide the little family and set the prairie grass on fire. The children hide safely in a well and at the end the family is reunited. A convincing picture of frontier life. - The Moving Picture World, May 24, 1913
