Excellent volume in Simon Wolf/Bud Lee's trilogy
lor_10 January 2018
Asia Carrera stars in this fantasy film, the second volume of a successful trilogy. It exemplifies producer Simon Wolf's unique place in Adult Cinema, combining fantasy, special effects, animal actors and XXX content creatively.

As usual, Bud Lee is the director selected to realize Wolf's conception, with his wife Asia Carrera as a most empathetic leading lady. Her character Jennifer Lakewood is the central figure of all three films, a novelist whose characters literally come to life as she's thrust into a magical world with a wolf as her guardian and the series' scriptwriter George Kaplan as a wizard who helps her discover her inner powers.

In this volume, Jennifer is presented by vampire hunter Robert (Dillon Day) with an ancient tome, the diary of a Carpathian nobleman Count Alexy Kovache, written in 1385. Herschel Savage embodies this figure, a vampire whose home soon becomes the story's main location as both Jennifer and Robert are transported back to his realm.

The special visual effects are ably designed and executed by Ron Jensen, with violence left off-screen with sound effects, as the guardian wolf attacks various bad guys to protect Jennifer. Sex scenes are strong, including anal sex with Euro beauty Alexandra Nice, group and lesbian sex provided by Dee, Sydnee Steele and Elizabeth X, and blonde Allysin Chaines impressive as Eve, Jennifer's fictional character who comes alive.

Carrera is glamorous and sexy, with a solid climactic XXX scene done bareback with silent Evan Hunter, decked out in Conan the Barbarian style and garb as Kaplan the wizard's alter ego. I especially liked Lee's emphasis on heroines in white nightgowns, a mainstay of traditional horror cinema.
