A true gem this valuable documentary going back since Nicolaus Copérnicus, thru Galileo Galilei until to reach on Jules Verne and later H. G. Wells, all them had influenced in some way the term Science Fiction as known nowadays, at the beginning of the century, their novels were adapted to short pictures and all kind of pocket books, later specialized magazines, exploitation a countless characters and tales, then came up the Fritz Lang's Metropolis, news writers came up as Edgar Rice Borroughs and others, despite the huge sale success, the mostly of the critics frowned upon, finally in early forties a massive big and low productions invaded the big screen on serial as Flash Gordon and on fifties they began make more suitable projects on this genre as "The Day the Earth Stood Still" this picture bring all kind of nuclear paranoia until George Pal's "The Time Machine" that overcame all craziest borderline, really a fantastic documentary commented by many directors, Filmmakers and cinema's critics!!!
