Truth and Reconciliation

One of the best of the season for sure. As a political junkie I loved everything about vote tabulation, projections and suppression, but the Acosta stuff was good too. Definitely an enjoyable hour.

Pretty well acted epsiode that further expanded the plot

It was a pretty well acted episode. I loved the scene when Felix interacts with the politician showing him being creative and willing to attempt to be in the more elite field. Pablo and walt meeting was also pretty getting deeper characterization from the both of them and then mimi reveling she was pregnant at the end was great. Palma getting sick of Felix and think about breaking up the organization was well written then Felix ordering the hit was the icing on the cake. Also I loved the tension between caldaroni and walt, two guys trying to bring the same guy down with different tactics and not trusting each other.

A deep digging episode

Warning: Spoilers
In this episode, some excellent backstories presented without flashbacks. That's a skill that so many showrunners lack these days. Of course, the acting skills of the cast are necessary to pull it off and Gerardo Taracena is competent to the point of brilliance in his role. So is Jose Maria Yazpik. Those two actors are at the top of the current form among the excellent cast of both "Narcos" and Narcos: Mexico".

The Pablo Acosta character is the most likable of the assembled narcotrafficante crew. Second, of course, Is the character Amado Carrillo Fuentes. Third, IMO, is the Don Neto Fonseca character. Of course, all of these characters are fictionalized for the drama, so we have no way of knowing whether the real life personas of the trafficantes are anything at all like the characters of the series.

Taracena was going to play a pivotal role, and the casting choice was really superb. The first role I ever saw him play was the part of Middle Eye in "Apocalypto". That film was my introduction to the deep well of acting talent of Mexican and the Central and South American talent in films. Before that film, I only knew a few Spanish speaking actors.

This episode is a disheartening turn in the story. Pablo wants out and is willing to deceive himself by believing Breslin's lies. Breslin knows full well that he's making promises to Acosta that he can't keep and he doesn't care, as long as he can see himself becoming a hero to his DEA bosses, who he pretends to despise.

That being the case, Pablo Acosta is doomed and is heading for betrayal. Knowing that he's fated to die in a gunfight, he might not see that the gunfight is dead ahead for him. Felix is diving into the election fraud that is needed to keep his corrupt PRI party in power. That is another disheartening piece of the story.

That's the trouble with anti-heroes in a story. They look like the good guys until they don't. The viewer learns sooner or later that he is pulling for a villain because there are no heroes in the story.

Brilliant acting

I was riveted from start to finish. Each scene was better than the last. A real tour de force in acting. Gerardo Taracena was brilliant. He brought such depth to the character. Such a simple man but with so much intelligence. I have watched every episode of Narcos from the start and I've always been a fan but this episode surpassed them all. Hats off to the cast.

One of the best episodes in the whole series!
wally-058806 March 2020
This episode was arguably the best in the series. Gerardo teracina played a scintillating role and his scene with DEA agent Walt (Scoot McNairy) on the rooftop was a masterpiece and a clip that I watched over again.

Mimi (Sophie bacon) played the cowgirl type girlfriend role to a tee and her scene in the cafe with Walt (DEA) was also a highlight of the episode.

Iv watched the whole narcos series (Including Escobar) up to this point and this episode was up there with the very best!
