Searching for Sasquatch

MonsterQuest was a show examining cryptids that wasn't always very believable. Some people might scoff at calling these episodes documentaries, and it is questionable as to why it appeared on the History channel. But I found this show enjoyable, like a guilty pleasure. It had good music and atmosphere. But there is also value in learning about legends, and few cryptids are as legendary as the Sasquatch, also known as Bigfoot.

Sasquatch Attack focuses on reports of the creature in northern Ontario- a long way away from its traditional territory, British Columbia and the western US. There's a particular focus on a cabin that has been allegedly attacked by a Sasquatch, at one point being broken into and heavily vandalized. I'm willing to accept the attacker was not a bear, but I can't believe the possibility of a human vandal was not seriously considered. One of the accounts was of a creature shaking a cabin with people in it, but the problem with this story is that it leaves no tangible evidence- it could simply be made up. Also, at one point someone theorizes that Sasquatch is unafraid of humans- but if it is a social creature, why hasn't it been proved to exist? Still, doubts like that aside, it certainly is fun to imagine something out there. They even claim to have found primate DNA, although they do acknowledge it might be human. This episode would make for a spooky campfire story for anyone out in the Canadian wilderness.
