I'm sorry no! Yes a lot of people do take cold showers and find it helpful, however basically all this man did was breathing exercises and tie people in blankets and throw them in freezing water. He had no credibility, he said he was a former athlete and that made sense because the majority of it was athletic breathing which is good but I saw no science to back anything up.

Good beginners introduction to Wim Hof Method

Wim Hof actually has major credibility and as had scientific research done on him and others while doing the breathing technique and cold water Immersion. Wim and 10 others were injected with the E. coli, they showed no symptoms and were able to it fight off.
Science does back this up. I do this method sporadically and it has helped my anxiety, helps with depression, helps build immunity, and helps cardiovascular system also regulates hormones! This is a very good introduction to the Wim Hof Method!

Only a weeks before I saw this epsiode, a friend mentioned the Wim Hof method to me and told me about how beneficial it was for his anxiety. It is marvelous to witness what your body can do if you put your mind to it.

Surprised this episode is not rated higher. While I'm not a huge fan of the show, I am a fan of this amazing man who should be noticed on a much larger scale. This episode provides a great introduction to who is Wim Hof. Encourage all to read his book - Activate Your Full Human Potential. It's an easy read and won't bore. Just doing the breathing alone has allowed me to hold my breath for 2 minutes. Whatever your personal goals around overall well being, I highly advocate for his approach. He shares his personal story as well. He writes like he speaks and that's pretty cool. It's very motivating.
